AND ALL OUR HERO'S
Good mornin', ya'll.
Such a roller coaster day on OFF. But, life is made up of roller coaster days. I am so happy for all of you with good news. Praying for all of those in need. I love keeping up with everyone and wish I were closer to each and every one to give hugs, a good laugh, a ride or a shoulder to cry on. Just be assured that I am here thinking of all of you daily.
Welcome to our RV'ing Grandma. My parents were snowbirds for years, hauling their 5th wheel between NY and TX. Twice my DH and I spent 6 months dragging an RV around the country, but I wouldn't be able to make it a way of life. (Mainly because my husband doesn't drive anymore and the last trip I did the RV hauling).
My son and DIL and one grandson were here for biscuits and gravy. The grandson stayed to nap, he has a big soccer game later today. Our son's kitchen cabinets won't be in until Dec 6th!! They rushed to gut the kitchen, put down the new tile floor, move the water for the fridge, put in new electrical outlets and paint everything, and now they have to wait another month to be finished. Not sure how long they have to wait between the cabinet arrival and the installation. I hope not long. They are getting a little testy!!
I have 2 more PT exercises to do. The ones I hate, so I do them last most days. Some days I am more ambitious and do them first. But they are the ones that leave my shoulder/arm feeling tired and weak, so even if I do them first, I have to rest awhile before I can do the others.
Another crisp fall day out there. Feels like football weather to me. We'll be watching the Oregon Ducks kick some Huskie butt later today!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Carolyn, Of course I'm a Cougar (WSU) fan with 2 grads in the family when it comes to Washington State competition. But just pits one of the WAshington schools even the Huskies against the Ducks or hte Beavers and my loyalty bleeds Evergreen! Go Huskies! And I'm so not much of a sports fan. I'll sit and "watch" with Mike but I'll be stirring chilly, checking Off, cutting out some aprons on totebags. . . .
Someone mentioned the roller coaster of our little forum. It is such a microcosm of life isn't it? One day we are sharing the pain of one diagnosed with a seirous health issue; the next day we are sharing the joy of a sister who is start a new chapter in her life. I always want life to be all good but I've said this to myself (as a reminder) and to others many times. If it was all smooth sailing we wouldn't appreciate the joy as much as when we have to trudge through some hard times to get there.
Nothing much on my calendar this weekend. Took the dogs out at 8am and stooped over to putt a few dead flowers from my rock garden. No gloves, in my robe and slippers. Have an hour later I had a huge pile of head flowers and I was covered in dirt and clippings. My rock garden is pretty much a perennial garden that I just add a few touches of color to in the spring. However, I didn't believe a few of the perennial labels and some have gotten way out of hand. Trying to eliminate those bad ones is a challenge as once they take hold it's so hard to get rid of them.
I've been selling a few things on Craig's List. I'm meeting a lady at WinCo (grocery store) to deliver a comforter set. It's almost new but just working for me so I'll let someone else have it.
I bought a queen size down comforter at Goodwill for $8.00 Brought it home and "sanitized" it in the dryer. Bought a 100% cotton cover for it yesterday for $4.00! Fits perfectly. It will be used on the bonus room queen bed which we moved upstairs last week after the carpet stretching and is covered by a nice quilt so the color didn't matter.
Sorry, I've probably bored you all today. You all have a nice day. I'm planning a late February trip for Mike and I to Arizona so that gives me something to look forward to. We'll take in one or two Spring Training games for the Mariners. The rest of the time will be spent visiting cousins and seeing the desert scenery. I think we'll fly in and out of Tucson. I've always wanted to see those huge cactii. There are a lot of things that sound interesting including some of the old West towns like Tombstone. Anyone with suggestions please chime in!!

Jan,
I started a "brief" comment to grammylew and before I knew it I was off and going on a completely different route. So. . . . see that post for my "what's new."
Jan, I'm delighted to hear that your mom is doing much better. Sounds like a great place, perhaps even better than the one she was at. In time it will become home to her also. I love the fact that they are allowing her do some some useful things. Women of her era did not just sit so I'm sure it's important for her to feel productive and good for her physically. Gives her a reason for being! I can just imagine the wardrobe you can create having seen your beautiful handwork. Don't forget to take a bit of time for you also!

Margo you are doing great on your own..keep it up!!! I've been without my sig other for years...I really can't imagine NOT doing everything on my own.
Met Annette at the gym this morning..work out, then pool..go**** was so relaxing and warm (finally)...then we hit the hot tub. I feel wonderful now...so I'm home doing my weekly cooking...chicken soup and my own invention for quiche.
