It's Saturday - What's New?
be sure not to become a stranger to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I am new to this forum but in reading the last few days it sounds like a place I'd like to be. I usually just stay on the RNY forum but getting really tired of it.
My husband and I are full-time RV'ers and we are spending the winter in the Southern California area. Right now we are in the mountains at 4000' East of San Diego. The weather has been really beautiful the last week and a half but is supposed to cool down this next week. We went to the beach at LaJolla Thursday and it was about 90 but still lovely. San Diego hit 100 which is a record and way too hot for this time of the year. It was 78 when we got back to the RV. Anyway, we do a lot of hiking and walking for exercise. We have been retired from Spokane WA for 7 years. Our daughters live in NE Oregon in the dry, hot part of the state. We spend the summer on the Oregon and Wa coast and winters dow here. It's a wonderful life and since I have my health back it is better than ever.
I look forward to meeting all of you on line.
Have a good day.

Sandy, Welcome. I think you'll like it here! I'm from Kennewick and we also love to spend time on the Washington and Oregon Coasts. Your daughters must not live far from me. I too always have to explain the "east vs. west" part of Washington the "Evergreen State." My husband and I will spend a week in the Tucson area in late February. Any tips for things to do and see? Again, it's nice to see you here!
(EDIT!!!! Wow, what a transformation!) You now look like your "daughter" compared to your before surgery picture! Congratulations! I still have a ways to go to goal and at the rate I'm going I'll be 90 when I get there. But, I am healthy and happier than I have been in years. Sounds like your RV lifestyle really gives you lots of exercise. My hubby would never go for it but I sure could. My mom always said I had the "wanderlust" when I arrived on Earth!

Yes, one daughter lives in Hermiston and the other in Ione so Hermiston is the "big" city and Kennewick is where we go for Winco, Costco, Fred Meyer, etc. We've never been to Tucson so can't help you with things to do and see. We did spend one winter on BLM land just outside of Yuma and had a wonderful time there. Since then we have gone the resort route and boondocking is okay but not long term. As far as full-timing is concerned they say that the first rule is that both have to agree to the livestyle. It also helps that we don't like yard work and keeping up a house and our budget won't allow both. Home is an RV pad next to our daughter's house in Ione. They have a big wheat ranch 9 miles from town. We spend a month or so in the Spring and usually Sept in the fall there. She has 2 children, an 11 yo boy and 7 yo girl so get to enjoy them while we are there. The other daughter has 2 daughters, the 21 yo lives in Hermiston and the 20 yo in Spokane.
Have a good day.

Now, you're in my old stomping grounds! We moved from Ramona five years ago. If you told me where you're rving, I could probably drive right to you. I grew up in Spring Valley.
How long will you be in So Ca? I'd be happy to offer suggestions of thins to do"

Sandy,
Welcome to OFF, I think you'll like it here. YEAH ! Now we another Souther Cali Off Sister, (even if you are a snowbird).
I'm in San Juan Capistrano, halfway between SD & LA, right on I5 near the coast. If you venture this way, give a shout & maybe we could meet for a cup of coffee. We also had an RV, but passed it down to my Son last year.
Hugs,
Jan
