Good Morning OFF and Happy Friday to us all!  Payday today too so that makes it even better!
I'm up early for a potty run and may just stay up - or may not, yet to be determined!
have to schedule a few brief meetings today then forge ahead with plans and tons of stuff to do this weekend.  CLEANING for one!  Purging unwanted stuff for another!  I have too much STUFF!  not needed.  Ahh too this shall pass.
have a great day all!

Hi Debbie and Friends to come!

I  too am doing the middle of the night potty run. Of course the "girls" Maggie and Lucy, always have to go outside too. I'm not sure if it's "need to" or "want to" with them. It quickly becomes "forget it" if there is any wind or rain when they peep outside.

I've been tired all week. I think my trip caught up with me and Erin and her 3 little ones were here over the weekend. Have worked including today 3 days. Yesterday was 6th grade math with 2 students with Aspergers. They are so sharp that they do their math in their head. My job is to get it out of their head and onto paper so that their teacher can tell that they "get" it. By the end of the day my head was completely empty!

No plans for the weekend. We've had lovely weather but it's supposed to turn on us this weekend.

Debbie, I've been posting and selling things that we no longer need or use on Craig's List. I can sell just about anything if I write a good ad and price it low enough. I figure something is better than nothing and I'm making room!

It's getting close to 3am so I better try to get some more sleep. My subbing call usually arrives before 7am and I like to have my shower before then so that I don't have to rush.  Hope you hear something positive from your job interview soon. Take care,

Karen C

I'm no expert Margo, but I'd be keeping my eyes open in regards to depression and drugs. Adolescence is notorious for wreaking havoc in kids. He might be open to a new schedule of homework time with you or another adult.

Margo,
I'm not Julia, but I also teach school.  I work with deaf and hard of hearing students...just wanted to throw something in about your nephew...6th grade can be a hard transition from 5th grade.  Does your nephew have a learning disorder..or is he having problems in school with a bully?  He might be having problems just keeping up..and sometimes kids need someone to sit with them while they do homework to motivate them and keep them on task.
I know its not an answer, but, I'd probably come right out and ask him why he is not doing his work. It could be something as simple as "I don't Understand it".
Good luck ...let us know how you make out.

one issue with my nephew is his (messed up) mother- she has visitation rights but doesn't pay her child support- she insists on HER days and then almost ignores him.....he has his head up her rear a bit and that causes probs...i am tryly hoping to get him to open up.......

i remember my own growing up and my Girl Scouts- i HATED that age group!!!!!

Ahhh- Good Morning Debbie!
I went to my first "Speech Therapists" meeting yesterday. It was great seeing all of my colleagues after so much time off! Our boss gave us the news that two schools showed a huge growth in API scores (academics). Mine was one of them... If you remember, for the last three years I've been actively teaching the lowest children reading every day for a couple of hours. My boss has told me I can't do it any longer- only speech. So I told her yesterday- are you SURE? I'm part of that API gain... no answer... I'll fit it in somehow... I'm a rebel. I did surprise my Mom on the casino bus. She was so happy! We had a great day- lost our money, but that is to be expected.  I'm involved with a Christmas project... a friend and I are filling stockings with items for soldiers. I'm the creative one, so I've been decorating the stockings. Each one is different and oh so cute! We fill them with drink powders, candy, jerky, nuts, CDs, etc. It's been a fun project. They have to be sent off very soon, so they are leaving my house today.
My back is getting better and better. I'm not sure if it will ever totally heal, but every step in that direction is wonderful!

Yes you are creative ;)  and I'm sure you are a wonderful teacher and they would be foolish not to allow you to do what it is you do so well. . .

Sending you full healing powers so your back gets better, or at the very least, is not a constant source of pain. . .

Hugs, Laureen
