Good Morning from California!
We're having a "happy" streak here... the Giants won the pennant, my oncologist called with the final news- it's not cancer, and I just won 50,000 points in pogo on a slot machine the night before my trip to a casino... so "maybe" tomorrow will be a good "winning" day for me.
I'm ready for bed- I have an early rising time. I'm hoping that my Mom will be on the bus tomorrow. She is quite regular... and it will be a happy surprise for her to see me. I still haven't told her about the three month cancer scare, but now I can.

I have had a good day. My interview went well this morning and should know results tomorrow. Dietitian is very happy with me. I see her again in 1 month after I have some bloods done.
Family are all here for dinner tonight so I had better get cracking. All our salad tonight has come out of our garden. Not sure if I can eat salads yet as I haven't tried.

good morning!!!!! julia i am so excited by your news!!!! and i really hope that your mother IS on that bus! what a fun day that will be!!!!!
did you know that women have been removing hair from their legs since 400 B.C.? well; i didn't either--michigan this mornings' trivia this am...so i guess i can't stop now just cuz it's almost winter! tho without a spouse or SO here, who cares? haha! might cut down on heating costs!

the dogs and i slept well; tho brody repositioned himself a few times-landing ON me at one point-dunno if he's cold or thinks i need protecting? i woke up at one point to a wonderful smell wafting in --remembered i had put a chicken in the crock pot- lemon slices in cavities, some butter and thyme!!!!! yummo......
at work; one of the gals' hubby lobbys politically and he was very involved in the campaign for our new governor--i'm tired of hearing about it and i'm sure today will be more! maybe i can get a song stuck in my head!!!!!!! being the 3rd it will be busy-social security check day for many!
i need to get my food act back together- with no one here to cook for me; i have no excuses! as i swapped out my summer/winter clothes, i realize that i have many nice things in a size smaller than i presently am....hmmmmmm----i was there for a few minutes a couple of years ago! need to get myself back on track!!!!!!!!!!! unfortunately i am a stress eater so i guess i need to monitor that as well!

Good news to share.....the blood work came back normal on my RA test, so I do NOT have RA. Just OA but I can sure live with that. I am so relieved - I just couldn't believe at my age that RA would just now show up.
Made a crock pot sweet & sour chicken yesterday afternoon and it was delish....think I'll invite DS for lunch otherwise I will be eating it for days and days!

Wow...short night last night. Didn't get home from wor****il a little after 9:00 and now I'm up and at 'em again. Tomorrow is a day off and I'm planning on relaxing. Yes.....relaxing!!!! Damn it!

Great news about the test results. I hope the good luck streak continues. You're due.....
I spent yesterday as a first time election inspector. Fancy name for what I did, although I was glad to do it. I actually felt like I helped explain some things and make the voting process easier for many people. 16-1/2 hours. I'm out of practice.... I enjoyed myself, and the people I met were very nice. Most all the voters I came in contact with live within 10 miles of me, so it was nice to see old and new neighbors. I'm not terribly political, but was glad to help out the community. I wouldn't have wanted to be one of the supervisors. Lots of small and a few bigger headaches, with the new system being new, but everyone did a good job.
I should probably go look to see who won.....
This afternoon I have my free consultation with a financial planner. I went to one of their "free" dinners a while back and signed up for more info. I'll be interested in what they have to say, although I'm not sure if I want to make any changes. Right now I know what I have, and I'm not good with uncertainty, especially where money is concerned. But I don't plan to sign anything today. I'll need to think on what they say a bit.
Not that I have so much to work with, but I think it's a good idea to talk with people who know what it's all about, just to increase my comprehension level. (Now doesn't that sound all grown-up.....?)
Other than that, there are sales galore at the mall. Might do a little shopping while I'm in the area. For Christmas gifts. Right....
(Maybe not so grown-up.....)

Last night was good, meeting up with my two "Een" friends at Seasons 52 in Cherry Hill, NJ, then it was home to hang with the Roxie girl and bed. . .
This morning I got up, made my turkey meatloaf for dinner tonight, as one of my sponsees is coming over for dinner, an eggbeater omlet to take to work for breakfast and then got ready for work, when I went to walk Roxie, it was burrutiful outside. . .
Well folks that's my day, writing to you from work and I'd better get to it. . . we have HR in the house today to interview people to replace the "front desk nasty" . . . it's been much more pleasant without her here and all I can think of is "ding dong the witch is dead, ding dong the wicked witch is dead" not that I wish her dead, but that is the song that comes to mind. . . lol
Have a good day one and all and wishing peace and strength to those facing the tougher life's challenges today.

Julia.......all happy news! Nice way to start the day for sure. We also were cheering for the Giants, and my son in Santa Cruz was delighted but we all kind of hoped they would come back to Calif. for another game, but hey, not complaining.
The cancer scare has been so frequent lately that it's more than scary. I know of at least 5 people in my little circle who are having to deal with this dreaded disease in one way or another. It is such wonderful news when treatment is successful or it isn't cancer at all.
It's so difficult to believe it is already November!! Walked through a department store yesterday and voila.......CHRISTMAS TREES!! Wasn't it just yesterday that I put all the decorations away??? This will be a very slim year here.........I think for many. It is always funny when the Santas with the bells outside of stores are wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and slippers (flip flops).
Today is errand day.....car servicing, bank, etc. etc. When I get home I really plan on going through my closet and taking a big load to Savers and pulling out some of my very small clothes that I wore for 10 minutes and giving to a friend who had hip surgery and has lost a lot of weight. I hope I don't do what I usually do and put it off for another day....sigh.
Here's hoping you all have a day full of surprises (good ones), and that something magical happens for you today.
