New to the board
Hi, I'm new to Obesity Help and recently found this message board so I thought I'd introduce myself. I had surgery on 3/15/10 and have lost over 100 pounds so far. Feeling great and found I've replaced my food addiction for a workout addiction.
I have a wonderfully supportive husband who now affectionately refers to me as raisin butt due to the extra skin issue.
My best news today is I just got my latest A1C blood test results (I have Type II Diabetes) and my number is now 5.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (non diabetics are under 6.0) and this is with no more medications! I was taking three different meds prior to surgery and still my A1C was hovering around 8.0. I got so excited I did a victory dance right in my cube at work!

Welcome to our little corner of the world. I think we find this forum when it is "time." It becomes many things to many people For me it has become a wonderful support system. I started posting almost 7 years ago when I was trying to get insurance approval. It remains a very vital part of my program. Isn't it amazing what getting excess weight off can do for our overall health? Congrats on no longer being "diabetic." It will just get better.

Welcome to our little corner of the universe. . .
Congrats on your success thusfar and woo hoo for the bloodtest as for most post-WLS folks, type II goes into remission immediately afterwards, for some it takes time, the good thing is that you can be free of all the medications you once took, as well as living life with less to weigh you down. . .
Anyway, wishing you all that you dreamed of, but thought you would not be able to do and then some dreams that you never dreamed of at all. . .
The people who post on this board are awesome and I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting quite a number of them in person and they are a great bunch!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Hi! I'm not new to OH, but new to this board. Somehow I managed not to find it until tonight. Congradulations on the A1C !!!! I was on 2 insulins, taking 4 shots a day and haven't had a shot since 2 days post-op. My A1C was 6.1, 3 months ago. Getting ready for new labs and I'm sure it's lower now as I test several times a day still and stay under 100. I too have found that I love working out would've never believed that one! Again CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!
