Good morning one and all.

I've been awake for well over an hour avoiding getting out of be. See, I have a routine; get up, potty, weigh, brush teeth and take supplements. I was avoiding the scale. I guess I figured if I didn't get up I wouldn't find out what I've been afraid I would see on the scale. Finally, my bladder won out and I got up. Sure enough...136.8. Dangerously close to 140.....too close for comfort, too close to even think about it.

Here's why I worry, and this isn't the first day like this!

latte
bkfst sandwich w/ canadian bacon Didn't eat all of it, so not a bad start to the day

4, yes FOUR mini powdered doughnuts. Stale, been sitting at the salon for three days, but I ate four of the little *******s any way before I came to my senses and threw the rest of them into the trash.

Got the shakes (hmmmmm, wonder why?) so I had 1/2 an apple and 3 small slices of cheddar cheese

Lean Cusine Turkey and green beans (finally, some sanity!)

cottage cheese /applesauce. Not bad, one of my "go to" snacks

Dinner out w/ Gary. Grilled chicken sandwich (it was HUGE, cut it into fourths and only ate 1/4), but then I had 5 onion rings. I DON'T EVEN LIKE ONION RINGS!!!!!!

applesauce w/ lf granola

and then, just for good measure before bed I grabbed about 9-10 Fritos.

God save me from myself!

I figure at this rate whatever weight I lose in excess skin in January won't make a dent in what I will gain between now and then.

Not to rain on your parade, but the poundage from the excess skin that's removed doesn't make a dent in your weight anyway.  I was elated they took off 16 lbs.. but my body readjusted and it was five.. and then................I'm back up to 158...2 lbs less than my gain when I had the surgery and 6 lbs more than my 'normal' maintenance weight of 152...

It just ain't right.

Yeah, well the doc said it would be like 3-4 lbs anyway, so it's not like it will make a difference any how.
No, it aint right!

Susan,

At least you are being honest, up front and sharing the same problems we all experience. The brain is the problem, plain and simple.

If I had a solution, I'd be a millionaire - and really really thin. All I can offer is plenty of hugs and encouragement.

We do our best, not one day at a time but one minute at a time.

One reason I threw my miserable scale away was the darned thing was making life horrible. Too much concentration on the numbers and less emphasis on what was healthy. Should have tossed out my brain too.

My meals seldom vary. The dietitian said this was good because it doesn't leave time to think about all the foods available.

You are a creative cook. I have almost given it up. Plain, simple and same old same old day after day.

Do our bodies become more used to the calories after time? I have no idea, but maintaining gets one Hell of a lot more difficult. Harder than losing.

I hope you didn't take this as preaching. I'm having a daily struggle too. You are not in this boat alone. God help us and pray it doesn't sink.

Kisses

No, I'd never think you were preaching at me. I had to be honest with myself mostly.

Hugs
