Jan, I'm so sorry about all your woes. Sometimes I feel that way too ... We're here for you.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Notebook"? What you're doing with the booklet sounds like that movie. It must be very hard. I see my mom slipping mentally too but not like yours.

And then the news about your grandson ... oh, that's horrible. Hang in there, dear friend. If you ever need to talk, I'm here.

Jan,
You are so smart- the book for your Mom is an inspired idea! We write those little stories for Autistic children... they are called "Social Stories" and are perfect for explaining things to a confused child.  I'm also so sorry about the MD diagnosis. I swear, when it rains it pours. Big hugs to you- cry it out.

Jan,

I am sending you my thoughts and prayers and hoping for better days ahead.  Hoping there are some things that will aid your grandson . . .  try and keep some of your most recent happy memories close to let you know you are not alone. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Jan, you're such a strong woman and so compassionate. I could hear the love in your voice when we spoke about your mom's situation, and now you're going to have to draw on those qualities to help your family understand your Grandson's condition. How devastated you all must be. I can only imagine.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and if I could get there to give you a big hug, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

Susan

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

Ugh ... I have a cold. Thought maybe I was getting one earlier in the week but then it went away. Thursday night, my nose was dripping; when I got home, I had a really good sneeze with yucky yellowish discharge and thought, oh no, I'm getting a cold just before the Friday-Saturday night onslaught. Felt not so horrible yesterday morning, other than not getting enough sleep, but as the day went on, felt worse. By the evening, it was a full-blown cold ... runny nose, scratchy throat, headache, body aches. Today, it's worse.

Yesterday, I transfered a couple prescriptions to Rite-Aid because you got $25 gift cards for each transfer and I wasn't happy with Walgreens anyway ... well, turns out Rite-Aid was cheaper. Plus, I got $50 worth of shopping for stuff I needed that was mostly on sale, including SF cough drops (really needed them, too). But it took forever to get those gift cards ... nobody could figure out how to get the coupons to ring up; you had to do some special dance to get them to work and only one person knew how (and she wasn't there ... they had to call her). I felt sorry for the person in line behind me ... I was getting miffed so I know she was (or I would've been if that were me ... I'm impatient enough).

Work was typical ... reporters were late ... my deadline is 11:30 and my last story was after 11:30 ... one reporter decided to drive back from his game instead of filing from where he was. I had four stories after 11:15 p.m. So I got done at 11:45 p.m. Only two more days of this, so I didn't get upset.

Well, that's all from me. Wish I didn't have to work tonight. If it was just a normal day, I'd stay home, but it's a Saturday and we're shorthanded, so I'll have to go to work. Have a good day.
