Vitamins and Exercise PLUS ADVICE WANTED

Just reading some of the threads.  I finally have some chewable vits.  Thank God! Kiddies ones but can take 3 per day.  Yay!  1 problem solved.

Exercise - Managing my swimming okay but I keep pushing myself to do more and more.  Unfortunately, I that then brings back my back pain and knee pain.  I have to keep telling myself; and making sure; that i still do 1 hour but not as much within that hour.  Slow down a bit.

So ladies i fully identify with your exercise difficulties.  Generally you just have to work around injuries.  For me, I can't swim any more until they find out what is wrong with my shoulder so I just kickboard.  The knee injury is an old one and only gives me problems with kickboarding, not swimming.  Go figure.

So I do what I can do. Did I mention surgeon is pleased with me and so he should be. I still have one problem though. I swear everything is tighter than it was when i first came out of hospital. I still can't seem to drink more than a couple of sips together.  Warmer fluids are better than cold fluids and that's okay.  But foods just seem to gurgle and froth, even sliders.  I am only having the very odd solid at the moment just to see how they go, but when I can't get breakfast of yoghurt and banana down I get a bit worried.

Any advice ?

Jules

Jules, you may have what is called a "stricture"....that is the stoma or opening from the little pouch into the intestine sometimes closes up and nothing will go thru.  You need to address this with your surgeon.    They can go down thru your mouth and stretch that opening under light sedative.... best advice tho; is to talk to your doc.

Glad you found the chewable vits.

Good-o on the exercise.

Jules,

Pat told you about strictures - she's right ... call your surgeon. Easily fixed and you will feel better.

Don't beat yourself up about exercise difficulties. Go slow and easy. If it hurts, you will want to quit. Exercising in the pool is definately easiest on our joints.

Hang in there. You are doing very well.

Kisses

Jules....I agree with Pat and Annette....please contact your doctor. It sounds like a stricture to me too.

Let us know what you find out......we care!
