What's New Friday?

Good morning one and all!
So here I sit in Burlington Vermont!  I was flown here Wed for an interview and was to have flown out yesterday afternoon but.....I missed the plane by minutes.  That was the last flight out towards Detroit, so I opted to stay in the airport over night. Interesting experience.  Actually there are quite a few of us!  I did get a bit of sleep and hope to get a bit more but am cold right now and wishing for a cup of tea! Have no idea about the job yet and suspect I won't hear anything until early next week.
So......What's new?

Oh, WOW, my Sistah... BURLINGTON, VERMONT?

So glad to see an hear from you and delighted you started the thread today!

I'll trade interesting experiences with you.  I stayed overnight in the ER with Becky at the county hospital (the one where Kennedy died) this week.  You ain't lived until you see a wild woman in yellow socks do the chicken dance.

Nothing happening in my life today (and that's a GOOD thing). Up too early, having shredded wheat (love the fiber), about to watch the REALLY EARLY news, take out the trash, get dressed and go to Starbucks.... (what else is new?)... then work.. and I'm swamped.

Is anyone else concerned about the patdowns at the airport that now can include 'body parts'?  I'm just trying to figure how to look suspicious so they'll pick me... hey, you do what you gotta do..:) Seriously?.. Full body scanners and hand patdowns?  Not sure a lot of flying will be in my future.  I'm going to wait and see what the outcome is...

And Mexico.... I'll cruise but I don't think I'm interested in getting off the boat there right now.  Might be time for staycations and seeing the good ol' U.S. by CAR, BUS, Trains..

Sheesh, how boring is this post?  Couldn't get much more, could it?

Hugs to all that need'em.

Janet

Good Morning, All

Gollleeee!  I had no idea the sun wasn't up at 5 AM!  Haven't been awake with my eyes open so early in a really, really long time....  I've actually been awake since 3, lying in bed, wide awake, contemplating life.  After an hour or so of that, no way was I going to be able to get back to sleep.  Soooo...Here I am with my coffee, seeing if anyone else in the world is up at this hour.

Knew I could count on you guys!

Yesterday was a quiet day.  Did nothing except get a haircut.  My niece came over for homemade beef barley soup for dinner.  It was a good day for it, cold and blustery.  The leaves have cooperated and have all blown to the back of the property, so my outdoor Fall cleanup is done for the year.
Today I volunteer at the Food Pantry in the morning, then  have nothing planned.  Supposed to meet someone for coffee tomorrow some time, but nothing's definite.  Looks like a quiet weekend.

Everyone have a good day.

debbie, it is always great to see you start the thread even if it is from the airport! vermont huh???if it's something you want then i am pulling for ya!!!!!please keep us informed!!!!!!!!!!

janet- wow- not another ER night....yellow socks eh?
personally i am thinking amtrak????? or horse and buggy......cruise would be nice.....'spensive....

candy...ummmmm beef barley--one of my very very favorites!
i gave up on yardwork---need to cover the berries with straw when mom gets home....

well- i spent yesterday doing some things for myself...ventured out in the chill and hit a few stores...looking for something -and usually that's what you don't find! instead i wandered into a really great consignment shop--whoa-good thing i am broke or i might have needed a moving truck!!!!!!!!! walked thru a quilt shop-very disappointed there- did tractor supply and walmart too--came home to roxie standing mouse duty exactly where i had left her!!!!!! she got him aggitated enough that she almost caught him (her?)...ugggghhhhhh

some major things and special people on my mind so it was a good day for me time

back to last nite;i've made supper and am sure that when the phone rings it's mom-nope
caller id is great! it's michael--what the heck- i've had a good "me" day so i answered...he's looking for some mail from ins. company---so i ask where i should send it when it comes-he'll give me an address soon....come to find out he flew back to the mainland on sunday; got his truck from matson before it sailed and he's in texas..(his kids are there).planning to come here in about 3 weeks to get his stuff--including i pray his birds cuz i want them outta here!!!!!!---so--he lasted all of three days on the island---and decided it really wasn't where he wanted to be if he couldn't share it with me....10 years all i heard was hawaii.........
if he plans on coming here; he had better arrange sheriff escort cuz my mother does not want him on the property after what he said the last day to her.....i really don't want him here either except i DO want him to take his birds.......if you know anything about large birds-they are not like simply putting a cat or dog in a carrier and meeting someone down the highway or i would-believe me!

well- today i work at a diff branch- the one i feel at home at....throws off my friday routine tho-you get accustomed to seeing "certain" customers on friday payday! and a bake sale in the lobby- again; good thing i'm broke!!!!!!!!

today, my brother in colorado graduates from college!!!!!!!!! whooooooooooooooo hoooooooooo doug!!!!!!!!!

hugs and prayers.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

It is nice to wake up and see the smiling faces here already.

Candy - I have really enjoyed the Menopause CD. People must think I'm nuts, laughing alone in the car each time I turn it on. Thank you!!

Annie  Cat 11 woke me up around 5 am. She was gently removing a bandaid from my hand. Didn't think Annie did anything in a gentle manner.

After another work out with Mr. M., I was tired. 3 year olds have far too much energy, 63 year olds wear out. Waking up from a nap, I was groggy and had the notion to skip the gym. Nope, went anyway and the pool exercises got all the kinks out. Slept real well too.

Later we will see the M&M's again. They decorated Halloween cookies just for Poppa. The frosting will be a creation, piled high with frosting and crunchy with sprinkles. Tom will scrape off the decorations or break a tooth - shh - don't tell the kids.

Kisses

If you ever get a chance to see the actual musical, jump on it.  If you think it's funny listening to the score, you won't believe how much funnier it is when you see it and then remember them actually performing it.  The visuals that go with the song are inspired!

Glad you're enjoying it.

Morning Debbie and OHer's!

Deb, nothing better than an airport for people watching, right? Tough for sleeping, but some interesting experiences none the less. Hope things work out for you if this is something you want. Would you be moving to Vermont??? I bet it's pretty there now.

I'm meeting the landscape man at the nursery to buy trees and shrub at 7:30 . Candy, wish you were here to help me, I'd much rather trust your experience than Mr Bubba's. If time allows I'm going to stop at the gym and check it out on the way home. Might join up. It would certainly beat falling asleep in the chair every nigh****ching stupid TV!

Okay, off and runnin'. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Thoughts and prayers to all, especially Bev. Sure hope things aren't as serious as she hinted. Golly, that worries me!

Hopefully, Mr. Bubba won't steer you wrong.  I'm very familiar with what grows around here, but your little corner of the world is another growing zone.  Some things would be the same, but some are very different.

I wish I was there, too.  No trips for me for a while, I think.  Foot surgery in January.  I can't put it off much longer.

Bah!

Candy, if I move to Vermont you could come and HELP ME with my yard choices! Just one state over and a longer drive perhaps!
