What's New- Thursday...
bev...i have read your post 4 times now and still don't know what to say...devastating news and oncologist in (almost) the same sentence....
you are in my prayers....
you are in my prayers....
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning Julia & OFF family,
Julia enjoy the last bit of time off before you get back into the job again. Congrats on your clean bill of health!
Thanks to all for the compassionate message I rec'd yesterday. They really did help.
I had a better day yesterday. I find when I'm at my lowest, that's when things start to get a little better. I'm sure it has something to do with my expectations. I was pleasantly suprised to find Mom calm, clean and sitting in the patio on such a beautiful day. She is so apreciative of the loving care provided by the caregivers. They helped her get up and use the walker to get to the table for lunch & she did much better than the day before. She's settling in so well that it makes it all a little easier to accept. I think I found a wonderful place for her. Today, I plan to take my camera and take pics for her in her new home with the caregivers - I know for my Sister who's in San Francisco a picture helps her accept this change in Mom's cir****tances.
That's all for now. I'm busy today buying new clothes for Mom. All her clothes are too tight (she gained some in the AL this last year). She only weighs 150, but I'm having to buy size 1x pants, cuz all her weight is in the middle and her tummy is sensitive. Then, I take tucks in the knee & calf area to slim them out & shorten them. This will be fun to do - so much better than worrying...
Hugs to all & Prayers for those in need.

For the first time in many years, I went to meet someone for coffee, it was a blind date (fix up). I never felt so old in all my life as when I looked at this boyish looking guy who is supposedly my age. Long story short, I am having a lifestyle lift done on January 8th. I can't wait not to see the lines and sags that my new face has produced since I lost so many pounds. They gave me a preview of my new face when they pulled all the excess skin away and had me look in the mirror. OMG, it was like looking at a 14 year old. I didn't look that good at 14, LOL.
Good morning Julia and everyone....
Glad to hear you are getting back into the "back to work" process. I know that is just what you want and need!!
As for me...I worked so many hours again yesterday that I only had to work one hour this morning. YAY on to the weekend mode now!!
My daughter Jamie is finally feeling better. Her tummy still hurts and will for a while. Glad all that is wrong with her is that she is Gluten Intolerant. She can deal with that!
I am going to go lay down on the couch with a very warm blanket and veg the rest of the day. I ache all over from this weather. These temps and low barometric pressures are causing such severe Arthritis and Fibromyalgia pain I can't hardly stand it.
I did make a big Crock Pot full of chili and that can simmer all day....it is already smelling good!!
Prayers for so many in need.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Julia and my OFF family:
It's hard for me not to cheer for either team ... I like them both. But I know what you mean about your dad cheering heaven ... I felt the same way in 2005 when the White Sox won. My dad had waited his whole life for that, so I felt he was helping them along ... some of those special plays along the way must have had some divine guidance. And hey, the Giants have a couple of former White Sox (Uribe, Rowand) ... Uribe is playing like he did for the Sox in 2005. Wish he would have continued that after 2005 for us. He has a lot of talent but sometimes plays with his head up his ass.
Not much going on here. You saw my other post (the new great-nephew, Alexander Glenn Briesch). Big baby, 10 pounds, 1 oz.). I thought my other great-nephew, Ben, was bigger, but I've been told otherwise. ... oh well, as my brother said, it's not a contest. I'm not that big on babies ... they're cute, but I don't go all gaga on them. I like the kids better when I can interact with them. Ben and Sam are so much more fun now ... Sam, especially, because he makes me laugh so much.
It cooled down here considerably. It was nearly 90 yesterday and now is 68 degrees today. It was nearly 70 when I got home last night ... much nicer now.
Well, that's all from me. Have a good day.
