two months til Christmas!!!!!!!!

talk to us-what's new?

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

What's new?  I am going to the World Series!!!  That's what's new in my world.  Saturday, my son will be with me.  Sunday, my daughter will be with me.  And if it goes to Monday, my grandson will be with me.

The excitement at the Ballpark Friday night was unbelieveable.  Nothing like ANYTHING I had ever experienced.  It was truly wonderful to share with my wife and my son.

Sorry I have not been around much, but I will not promise I will do better, because I don't know if I will.  But I do think about you folks often.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning OFF family...2 months til Christmas...time flies by and we gotta grab it! LOL

Friday went to Hopkins football home last game and they won. After the game, the our football team went to the 50 yard line and prayed. It was a marvelous, moving site watching these teens knee down and give thanks. After wards the teens went to our 5th Quarter at our church, we have activities and everyone has a great time. Small town with reaching out to our teens. Then on Sunday most of the team came to our church and sat together.

Sunday at church I directed the Men's chorus and they sang Wonderful Grace of Jesus. I got sound out of them! Unbelievable...they did great. I just gotta teach them to smile when they sing. LOL

We sat with my MIL Sunday afternoon, she is just barely hanging on now. Hopefully she will be going to heaven soon. Mom indeed is a fighter.

Great news folks!! I made it to water aerobics Saturday morning...of course I was exhausted by the afternoon and took it easy the rest of the day. Today I plan on doing water again. I finally feel like getting to the land of the living but I gotta do it slowly. I could feel my innerds saying take it easy!

Happy Monday, hopefully it will get nice outside and not rain at some point so I can take a little walk.

Morning Margo & George, & everyone else! Morgo hope you are feeling better. George I can't even imagine the excitment you are feeling. Good luck to the Rangers!!!.
Another lazy day here. Our wood is supposed to be delivered today so will be busy for a few weeks. Ten cords of 8 foot logs that we cut up. Then we will be warm for the winter.
Our son left Saturday. The house seems so empty, but he promised to come home often.
Spent some time with great friends this weekend, went to a grands birthday party, & did nothing yeaterday. Today I don't know what we are doing. You all have a great day!!

Stop Margo - you're killing me!
Well, the saga goes on with Mom and her fall.   After much discussion between Doctors & Phys Therapists at the hospital, they are telling me she cannot return to her Assisted Living home - she needs more constant attention as she is unstable & likely to fall again.   They prefer a skilled nursing home with in-house phys therapy, but after touring a few, I could not bear to leave her there.   Instead I have found a board-and-care where 6 elderly live with 2 attendants 24/7.   It come highly reccomended.  My Daughter went with me for the tour and assured me that she thinks it is just the place for Grandma.    Today, she gets released from the hospital.  My sister & I will take her to her new home & get her settled.    Please say a prayer that she will make a smooth transition & get along well in her new home.

I have much paperwork to do, drs. reports, info on Mom,  picking up meds at AL, moving her furniture out of AL, etc. etc etc.

I am exhausted -- have been on the run since she fell on Thursday. Hopefully she'll get settled today & I can start to get some rest & back to my routine.

Hugs to everyone here --- and prayers for those with more concerns than mine!

You and your Mom are in my thoughts.  I hope the transition goes smoothly.

I've never heard of a "board and care".  Maybe it's a California thing???
Sounds like a great option.

Hey Candy,
Board and care facilities are usually private homes that are run my nurses and aides. The have the home atmosphere without the hospital feel. They're a great alternative to SNF's

Jan,

Sending good thoughts your way, never easy to watch parents go through this process called aging. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Hi Jan,

I think that this is a great solution for Mom and all of you. My MIL's board and care is wonderful, and it certainly takes the load off the family, allowing them to be more rested knowing that Mom is well taken care of.
