Where are the Newbies?
I look for ward to your input..

Jan's idea is a good one and I am jumping in to wish you well, this board has helped me along the way, the support here is excellent, with many "oldtimers" who share what works for them and just generally support one another in the ups and downs of post-WLS life, as well as real life which many of us ate our way through.
Best wishes for your continued success.

I had a VBG in 2003, and then a GB/RNY in 2006 because the VBG didn't work. I went from 300 pounds to 229 pounds. That was about 2 years ago (2008). Then I gained 20 pounds and haven't been able to lose an ounce since.
I had NO post-operative nutritional guidance, so I do not know what i'm doing wrong, aside from not working out. My job consists of sitting in a chair for 10 hours a day, having meetings on the phone and watching presentations on my PC. So I'm pretty much glued there. I know that i have to make time to work out, but can anyone give me any other reasons why I'm not losing weight? I don't do shakes, cheesecake, icecream, or any of those "torpedo" foods. What else am I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
As for your request for advice, well for one, try committing to posting daily on the food thread that Susandoeshair posts and sticking with that, nutritionally, perhaps you need to engage with a nutritionist who is familiar with your particular weightloss surgery to get some guidelines on what to do to restart yourself. Lastly, while your job keeps you glued to the chair, you would be wise to try and get some sort of activity in daily. Even as I write that last sentence I am recommitting to that part of my journey, as it has been lacking of late and the pounds creeping on, so what I know is I must move. It is about calories in and activities that burn them. . .
Welcome and participate with us and perhaps we can help you as we all help one another on this forum.

I have started my 2 week clear liquid diet.
Its going semi good. Having a hard time not eating
something. Liquid is okay but not filling enough to
keep me from getting headaches.
My surgery is November 9Th and I think it will be
hard getting through this.
Also juices are to acidly for my bile reflux so they
irrated my stomach. The Dr's office person said water them down..but that still not very good.
I am 68 and have wanted this surgery for years.
So I'm really looking forward to this.
my children are not on board for this surgery but
I am still going forward with it.
Welcome and my son was not on board, he felt I should try diet and exercise (lol)... to which I said, haven't I been on everyone of them know to mankind. . . same results, this works, not easy path, but if you are wanting to and willing to follow the guidelines, you will, more than likely be happy as your weightloss happens and the newfound energy you will have.
Take care and best wishes for your upcoming surgery date. Be sure to check back in and let us know how you are doing.
