saturday saturday how are you all?
good morning all,
Can you believe this hospital has pc's in the cafeteria for guests to use? How wonderful!
Thanks to all for the kind words yesterday. They really helped get me thru the day. Mom was very agitated, trying to pull out all the cables, catheter, etc & even trying to get out of bed. I sat with her for ab out 6 hours, then I started to have a meltdown & needed escape, so they gave her Atavan. I HATE how that made her! She fell asleep before they even finished the infusion, but it was not a good sleep. 5 hours later, it was almost impossible to wake her up! By the time it started to wear off, she was starting to get agitated/restless again. I assisted her with "bed" exercises that I made up & that seemed to help.
This morning, she's much better, but wanted to know where Dad was (he passed in 1997, so that was hard. She'll have PT today, so we'll try to get her on her feet in the hopes that she can go gome to her AL apt. I lined up a Home Health Care Agency & am prepared to have round-the-clock assistance for her if necessary for 2-3 days, in the hope that she can transition back to her life as it has been the last year. I am getting sooooo tired emotionally, and I know I can't do it myself. Brother has offered to stay with her for 6 hrs on Sunday, so that will help - but really it's just a drop in the bucket, so I'll get professional help. I hate to spend Mom's $ that way, but there's only so much I can do.
I am reading the posts every day & send prayers and good thoughts for all those who need them!!!!
Think I'll walk around the hospital & then be back before Mom finishes her nap.
Hugs to All,
Jan

Hi Jacki and my OFF family:
Interesting night at work last night ... no more stressful than usual ... but the night metro editor decided he wanted to do a couple of pages (the local university named a new president ... it was a big deal ... and we're short people, so what the hell, why not let him do something?) So it was just me and this guy Bill doing the Monroe pages ... me doing sports and business and him doing local. I was setting things up for the rush, when suddenly I realized it was 11 p.m. ... had to start throwing things on the page. Where did the time go?
My beautiful little kitty girl Miss Juliette has adapted to my schedule. She is definitely a night owl, like me. When I come home, she is waiting at the door for me and greets me. When I go to bed, she goes to bed (although last night she was playing for a bit while I was reading ... that's OK) ... when I get up, she gets up. She even goes to the litter box in the morning when I'm sitting on the toilet. It's kinda funny. She still is hesitant to sit on my lap, though she did jump on my lap last night to get her treats.
I woke up this morning (just about a half hour ago) with a horrible pain in the middle of my back, just below my shoulder. Man, it hurts. I have an ice pack on it, hoping it will bring down whatever inflammation is going on before I have to go to work.
I'm surprised George isn't here today ... too tired from celebrating his Rangers winning the American League championship. Congrats.
Well, not much new from me. I work again tonight ... more football. For some reason my iced coffee seems to attract these little red ants to my desk. Can't imagine why ... there's nothing sweet in there (I use SF stuff). I hardly ever eat at my desk; I have a protein drink for dinner half the time because I don't have time to eat.
Have a good day everyday. Hope someone has some fun. Me, I'll be at work.
