"On the road again" would best describe me to day. Jan, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's fall. I'm about to lose power so short and sweet. Heading to Mount Vernon and then on to Gettysburg, staying around York, PA tonight. More later.

Hi everyone
I have been looking for an investment in a duplex, etc. for the past few months.  I have a realtor who is very ethical  -  a really good guy and I thought that he knew what I wanted.   I asked him to set up a viewing of a brownstone, which was ridiculously under priced, and we went to see it on Monday.  There had just been an offer made - the place was beautiful, totally up-to-date and not in need of any renovation.  The building was probably 100 years old and had been maintained beautifully  with all of the large mouldings still intact, central air, beautiful kitchen, etc..  There was a tiny deck in the back and a rec room in the basement for extra storage.  I thought that it was just the place that I would like to live in a few years and rent out in the meantime.  However, that's not going to happen as the offer was accepted before my offer got to the seller.  My offer was several thousand above the accepted offer, but the seller couldn't do anything because he had accepted the other offer.  I didn't give up there and had my realtor contact the seller's realtor and offer to purchase from the new buyer just in case she wanted to make some money on her deal.  I knew that it was a long shot, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.  Alas, that too was a no go.
I know that of all the issues people are facing, mine is just a ripple on the surface of a pond, but it sure has bummed me out as that brownstone would have solved some money issues for me and made my future more enjoyable.  However, I will survive, and I'll also keep looking for that perfect place!
Jan - I hope that your mother feels better soon and blessings to everyone else.

Margaret,

There was a reason for you not getting that place and something better is bound to present itself to you before too long. . .  Good to see you here and I am wishing you happy hunting for just the right home for you!

Morning Jan & ALL,

It is so difficult raising parents!! Your Mom will be very sore today and you ... very tired. Hang in there.

My cousin Angela's huband (Ox) died yesterday morning from complications due to MS. Her son Joshua was in a car accident a few weeks ago with life-threatenng injuries.

Angela knew this was coming and had made the final arrangements last week. Ox is at peace.

Yesterday was the first time that Joshua has been put in a standing position since his accident. It was a bittersweet day for Angela.

This has been one ***** of a week. I won't bore you with the gruesome details. In the "olden days" I would have used stress as an excuse to pig out.Now I have to focus on healthy eating and resist the urge to wallow in depression.

I have two play dates with the M&M's this weekend. They will keep me positive, happy and tired. Yeah - that's good.

Kisses
Annette

Oh Annette- grief does come in all at once doesn't it? Has Joshua regained his cognitive functioning? I so understand how stress makes food decisions more difficult. You are strong- I know you have your priorities in mind. Sending you a big hug to help with the sadness your family is experiencing.

Joshua has astounded the doctors with his progress. Cognitive AND physical functions are returning.

His left arm has no bone from shoulder to elbow - it was knocked out in his accident. He now has arm and finger movement there.

He is talking, eating, drinking and recognizes when machines are out of pitch.

Hugs are good. I still savor the live ones from last week. Virtual ones are darned nice too.

Kisses

Annette,

I am sorry for your cousin's loss and hope that she can get through this sad time with some hope for her son and that he makes a full recovery, as it is, it seems as though a miracle for him to be where he is, though I imagine the road is long ahead of him.

I send comforting thoughts to you, as you have had your own stuff going on, what with Tom's situation, good that you have the M&M's to look forward to.

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen,

Thanks. Angela is a strong person with tons of support from family and friends. Joshua gets his determination from her.

We all have stuff and the choice to deal with it or wither up and croak. I am not in the withering mood today.

Good morning, Jan

So sorry about your mom's fall. Golly, we were just talking about that being a big fear of yours. Julia might be right, it might be time for another level of care.

Not much going on today. Work is very slow, just two clients today, but tomorrow is crazy busy so it all works out.

Can you BELIEVE how many people posted on the what are you eating thread yesterday????  WOW!!!!  Now that's what I'm looking for!

Off to get that started. Hope you all have a wonderful day

Susan

Hi Jan and OFF family...Happy Friday!! Now I can't wait til 4:30! LOL

Well I'm detoxing my body and sticking to fluids but will allow myself 3 fresh fruits and see if I can get this bloating out of my body. Pushing the walking and right now I feel good because I haven't eaten yet. I do have Activia LIght that I'm ready to eat so I will also have yogurt too.

I'm planning on doing water aerobics tomorrow morning and get my butt back to the gym. I'm taking my life back people...I'm going to challenge myself. I want my total health back.

Everyone have a great weekend! Hugs Debbie
