A Few Words from Oz
Hi Everyone
Just thought I would touch base and let you know that all is going okay with me. Had a little problem with protein and vitamins but that is now all sorted and I am on track. Have 1st post-surgery appointment with surgeon on Tuesday. I think he will be pleased with me because I know I am. My weightloss seems to be pretty static the last couple of days but I am not concerned because I am doing all the right things.
I am back at swimming. Try and do 1 hrs swimming (actually just kickboarding because of my shoulder) every 2nd day. When I go to the supermarket I walk up and down all the aisles even though I may only need to go to one.
I have been suffering a bit from tiredness and I must admit I am a bit worried about how I will cope when I go back to work. I think part-time work is the answer. Food-wise all is good. Tonight I cooked a fabulous beef curry for the family and pureed some for me so I was able to join them. It might have looked awful but it tasted beautiful.
Well it's friday here tomorrow and I actually don't have anything planned except maybe a swim. This weekend my hubby is away on a golf trip so I will have to find some things to do. Have finished knitting a rug and now I just have to sew it all together so I may get that done.
Bye now.
Jules

Hi Jules!!
CONGRATS on your new life!!! I haven't been posting on OFF for awhile so I missed you when you arrived here. Its a wild ride that you are on so hang on tight!!! To date I have lost 154 pounds and I am just over 4 years out now. My only regret is I didn't have WLS sooner!! :-) So when you come to stalls which there are many, just keep doing what you are doing and the weight melts off I promise!!! ;-)
Hugs
Hi Guys. Yes I am looking forward to the tiredness going away Annette. I am surprised that what appears to be so little exertion is so tiring. I am just glad that I have the luxury of doing part-time work if I desire.
Judy, I agree with you. I wish I had had the RNY instead of the lapband 3 years ago. However, I have to be honest and say that I don't think I had accepted the position I was in at that time. That if I didn't do something I would probably not be alive too much longer, whereas I knew for sure that it was the case this time. Mind you, if the surgeon hadn't put this surgery to me I would never have had it done. Such drastic measures surely weren't for me? But you know, they are for people exactly like me.
When my niece was up here for a week we did a video of me giving her and my son's partner a cooking lesson. When the video was played back I was mortified to really see how big I am. I have never seen myself as that big. How can a person not see this?
I now have more determination than ever to make sure this surgery is successful.
Bye now.
