Hi All,
As I typed the date I realized- it's my wedding anniversary! My husband and I have been married 27 years today. It's not a big one, but I guess every year is big when you are talking about marriage. I'm lucky, but I did choose well, too- we are compatible and like each other as much as we love each other. We will be going out tonight to our favorite pub, our Friday night tradition.
I talked to my oncologist today. He reiterated that we need to do the third MRI to be sure about the spine. It will be just like the last one, three hours, the whole spine, then with contrast. I will take ten xanex pills as soon as I check in. LORD! I have it scheduled for the morning of October 20. The receptionist remembered hearing about my panic mode last time and the call for drugs. I guess I was famous there that day. LOL!
I got my wheelchair today too. It's very easy to fold, but kind of bulky. I'm going to try putting it into my car tomorrow and drive it to school, then take it out and wheel myself into the school to practice. Oh man, I wish I hadn't taken that fall!
I have a tea party at TOPS on Tuesday night. I'm doing a table with a Marilyn Monroe theme. I have it set up in my dining room right now as I play with the design. It's going to be fabulous! It has Marilyn Monroe plates, little framed pictures hanging from a wrought iron tree with tons of crystals, martini glasses with pearls and crystals draped and hot pink napkins entwined with silver and crystal. I'm going to add hot pink roses and baby's breath on the night of the tea. I try to do a different theme every time we have a tea party. I get a kick out of the whole process.
It's time for me to take my pills and get to bed. Don't forget to check in on the thread... I like to see lots of responses!

Good morning Julia, & all those yet to come. Still at my daughters. The kids surprised me by coming in last night. My son is finally out of N. Carolina for good! He has about 2 weeks of leave before he reports to the base in Indiana. It sure has been a busy week. Making cookies after school, taking things into school that the kids forgot, dance class, CCD, & soccer. I forgot how much running there is with kids.
Today I will make a pot of chili for everyone, with venison. Four more kids tonight too, for a total of 7.
Tomorrow is a family hayride & Sunday is fishing on lake Mich. I will stay here with all the kids, the last time I was out on the lake I hung over the back of the boat not feeling all that great! Sunday night we will be home.
I am ready for peace & quiet!
Woke up to a puppy barking at 4:30 this morning, yes our puppy. Times like this I wonder why we have him. Then I remember, we love him. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Good morning Julia and Nan and all to follow:

I should be on the bike, but here I sit in front of the puter.

Had son and DIL over for a meal last evening.  Had made a nice beef stew the day before and warmed it up last nite, it was so good!  Made cheddar biscuits and a batch of flourless PB cookies.  Just a tiny serving of the stew left so it must have been tasty.  DIL seems to be doing well now that she's on medication for the MS.....says her eye is improving....she actually gave me a hug when they came in, that's something that really made me  happy.

Off to work this morning shortly.  Have a load of towels in the washer, will dry them this afternoon and give the house a quick cleaning.  This evening I am going to a Fall Festival at my church -- pulled pork sandwiches on the menu, and a silent auction (I put a couple bids in - so will see if I get anything).  Tomorrow I'm going down to LaGrange, Ind. to their street fair called "Corn School" and watch the parade with my sis.   Sunday is church and relaxation.

Thoughts and prayers to all,
Pat r.

I know what you mean about the puppy.  I have a 5 year old cat who chews plastic and leather....bags, coats, shoes, BRAND NEW boots!  She didn't start it when I first got her.  I probably would have sent her back where she came from.  No, she had to wait till I loved her.  At that point, it would have been like giving back a child, and I couldn't do it.  So I've become very neat.  All shoes, boots and coats are behind firmly closed doors at all times.  The plastic bags?  Well, she can open cupboard doors, so that's been a challenge...

Did I mention she's also fond of purses?  The more expensive, the better.  She's got better taste in purses than I do.  "Taste",  you know?

I'm working on behavior modification with her.  It seems to be working.  I put things away a lot more than I used to..

But I love her, so I keep her.
Enjoy the puppy.  And your day.

Exactly.  My behavior.  Not hers.

Nan, Candy & Susan. . .

I laughed when I read about the puppy and Candy your kittie and the part Susan wrote about who has been behaviorally modified, as when I got my new four-legged daughter, a 3 yo rescued Rottie, I did not know what to expect, other than she was housebroken and trained somewhat and got along with people, children and other dogs, things I did not have time to do by getting a puppy.  She was an absolute sweetfaced girl, quiet and well behaved, fast forward to present times (10 months later). . .

Have to hide my shoes and other items that she might think are chewables . . .  and Foxie Roxie has another loving name, Foxie Roxie, aka, Bossy ***** . .  she will bark at you and let you know that it's time to walk her, does not matter if you are dripping wet out of the shower, naked, she will bark and it's her way of letting you know, don't forget about me, then there is the treat jar, she quickly learned that trick, come in the house go sit by the jar and look at you with those adoring eyes and if that don't work, well I will bar****il you give me what I deserve (lol).  She whines to get into my new roommates room in the a.m. once I am up and well she is just an absolute delight, though demanding as only some females can be (lol). . .  The delights of having our furfaced family. . .

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Our one puppy is almost 9 mos. old. I believe he done growing & is 5.6 lb. We call him Peanut & he is also a thief! My slippers, he has taken a pair of scissors, my crochet hooks, & yarn. His bark is high pitched & he sits up & waves his paws in the air if you don't give him enough attention! He is the baby of 2 of our other dogs. My DH had to pull him out when he was born, and he was the only puppy.

Happy anniversary, Julia!!!  Spending your life with your best friend is terrific, isn't it? Hope you have a wonderful day, and many more happy years!

I had a "bon-bon" day yesterday.....nice and relaxing and pampering. First, I ran some errands, then got a pedicure, went out to lunch with the above mentioned best friend, then had an amazing facial complements of my wonderful DIL.  AHHHHHHH

A new tradition starts tomorrow in AR. I just saw this on the news, the First Annual World Cheese Dip Competition sponsored by Velveeta and Rotel. No wonder AR is like # 2-3 for most unhealthy state in the country!!!  So dissapointed that I have to work and just can't make it. NOT!!

Okay, off to get ready for another great day with great people. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Susan
