Check for a homans sign:  Lay down and stretch your legs our straight.  flex your foot up towards you.  If you feel pain in your calf it could be a clot.  Also, is it both legs or just one?  check the pulses behind your knees and at your ankle or on top of your foot to make sure you can feel them.  Is your leg swelling or warm to the touch or red?  If it's both legs and you are up and walking about, it probably is an electrolyte thing.

Hi Jules, we're new to each other.  I've been spending a lot of time on FB lately.  Boy can I relate to your spider phobia!  Hate, hate, hate them.  I can deal with snakes ok, but not spiders.  When you think about it, it's really silly to have this phobia, but nevertheless, it's real fear.
Sorry to hear you took a tumble so soon after surgery.  Slap that boy.  :>)
Your tears could also be from the change in hormones after surgery.  Talk to your dietitian, she may have some ideas for you.
Hope you're doing ok now.  I'd love to visit AU some day.

Hi Jules and my OFF family:

Hate docs who pooh-pooh symptoms. I've been dealling with that about my right knee after the knee replacement. Sometimes you have to get loud with them to get them to take notice. I still have swelling in both legs after my knee surgery, and no one has done anything. Recent doctor (actually, nurse practitioner) noticed it too, but didn't do anything. At least I know it's not blood clots because it's been checked. But you haven't, and you just had surgery.

I hate spiders, snakes, bees, wasps, hornets ... I have some phobias. I don't know what a huntsman is, but it sounds horrible. We have this giant ****roaches here in the South (actually, they're waterbugs) ... when  I was in Georgia, my two cats used to like to chase them around ... also the big wolf spiders. My cats always protected me. Not sure if Juliette will.

I had my new doctor appointment yesterday, but as I said, it was a nurse practitioner ... she was nice, everyone was there. Got prescriptions, then went to Walgreens to fill them. Dropped everything off, went over to Walmart to pick up a few things for chili and then back to Walgreens. Well, they screwed things up. They had a long line, too, and I was standing in line at least 15 minutes before I got up to the counter, then noticed that my inhaler was $139 ... hey, I have insurance ... so they had to redo all my scripts, plus some of them, they had to redo again because they were for 90 days, and my insurance will only do a 30-day supply. I was there for an hour, most of it standing ... I was in serious pain and very *****y at that point. One of the clerks told me I shouldn't be nasty with the other person, it was my insurance that caused the problem ... well, no it wasn't because I gave them my insurance card on Saturday, it didn't go through this time? Sorry, but they screwed up. I have used Walgreens for many years, but this Walgreens always has a line ... they are not very good. I think I'm changing pharmacies.

So by the time I got home, I was in no mood to stand and cook chili. I put the groceries away and had something that I could stick in the oven quickly and eat sitting down with my legs up. I'm still in pain from yesterday. All from an hour standing at Walgreens. If they only had told me there was a problem and it wouldn't be ready, I could have come back. But no, it was going to be ready in 30 minutes.

Didn't do much else yesterday; just a couple loads of laundry. Happy to say I got a prescription for an antidepressant (not Lexapro, it's too expensive, this is Celexa, or generic Celexa ... only $9.99). Slept a little better last night and I'm not itching as much. Nurse practitioner is going to refer me to the pain clinic or a rheumatogist. Just waiting for the referral. The only bad thing from the doc visit is my weight is up over 200 (ugh!) and my blood pressure was up ... 138/80 ... bottom number is good, top number not so good. I blame the antidepressant withdrawal on the b/p number.

Well, baseball playoffs start today ... I know George is happy. Have a good day, I have work this evening.

Here in my neighborhood I had the same problem with long lines at the pharmacy.  I finally moved my RXs to my grocery store.  Randall's a local store, I think the parent company is Safeway,  never seems to have the long line problem .  they are courteous, competent and have auto refills so I don't need to worry about forgetting to call in refills.  You might check out similar places in Monroe.

Hi Jules and all my OFF friends,
I hope the results of your fall don't linger and they figure out your leg pain.  I fell last week going up stairs.  My kneecap has a big bruise on it and is tender.  I just didn't lift my foot high enough for the step.   In too much of a hurry.
I'm having stomach problems again.  Looks like I'll be going back to the gastroenterologist again.
Hubby gets home tonite from his building officials conference.  He's been gone four days.  Friday I leave for my "cousins weekend".  It will be lots of fun. Seven of us can make it - just us girls.
Spiders don't bother me so much, neither do snakes.  But I definitely don't like them being in my personal space like my bed!  I've always wondered how many spiders I've swallowed or had crawl on me during my sleep. LOL.
Don't have much to do tonite except wash hubby's clothes from the trip.  I took some shrimp out of the freezer at lunch time.  I think I'll just saute it in olive oil with some onion and garlic and toss with a little bit of whole grain pasta.  I think I'll stop on the way home and get a little zucchini to put in it as well.
Glad everyone is getting to the doctor.  Take care of yourselves.
Bev
