Wonderful Wednesday

Hi All

Well yesterday started beautifully....until a bit after I wrote my thread.

My son had a cord running from the family room to his bedroom (antenna) and I had been nagging him to pin it properly out of concern for his partner.  Waste of time worrying about her.  It was me to went for a nice tumble. Splat went this lump.  I was shattered.  I only seemed to have a sore knee, some pain (muscular) between elbow and shoulder and a whole lot of wounded pride.  I had put hand to tummy instinctively which is the one now in pain and my tummy seems to be okay. Once I was up and pulled myself together (damn those tears, they just woudn't stop), I went and had a drink to make sure all was still working.  My niece was so angry with my son.  I think he was real lucky he wasn't here otherwise he might have gotten his head torn off.

Went to the doc but came out with no answer re the leg pain. Made me feel as if I was a bit silly.  Mumbled something about electrolytes and blood tests but nothing done.  Nurse took staples out beautifully but a couple of them brought tears to my eyes (again!).  Am seeing the dietitian today and will raise issue with her.

Had another shock yesterday too!  I swear I did something bad in another life.  After we got home from our outing, hubby was already home from work, I went into the bedroom to change.  Wasn't wearing my glasses.  Took off my top and went to hang it up and all I could see was this very (swear) large spider. It was a huntsman. I don't know if you have them over there but you could google to see why I went into shock.  I hate spiders.  Big ones, little ones...it doesn't matter. I screamed, naturally! (how very female).  No answer so screamed again.  I couldn't move in case it moved. I was shaking and crying.  Once hubby saw it I was able to leave and raced down to son's room and hid in their bed.  His partner Leah was on the phone to her dad and didn't know what was going on but could see i was terrified.  My niece then come running down too and she had been struck with morbid facination and had to take a picture and was showing Leah.  This of course only made me worse.  Saga continued, spider dead, I am still just surviving.  Getting house fumigated in next few days.  Check date and my annual is due.

TODAY - I am sitting in the office again with this bright ball of sunshine penetrating the glass. It is still really early in the morning, 5.30 am, actually it is now 5.50 am.  Gee I think I type as I talk and the time goes really fast.  I think it's another lovely day with afternoon showers predicted.  My youngest son is taking his cousing to Australia Zoo today.  It is about 15 minutes away from us but a must for her to see before she goes home.  It is a fabulous zoo.  It is the only one I have ever been to where you aren't confronted with some pretty horrific smells. If you ever come to Oz you have to come to Qld and see this zoo. It's a must.

What am I up to today?  11.30 am dietitian.  Friend picking me up and taking me there and then on to lunch with some other friends to a little...french....cafe...??!!! What are they doing to me?  Hope they serve some soup or something otherwise it's tea and/or coffee for me.

Sorry about being long winded today but had to get yesterday off my chest.

What is everyone doing today?

Wow what a time difference between Qln and Texas.  It is 7:01 p.m. Tuesday  here.

If your calf continues to bother you and you have no answers ask your doctor to do an ultra sound.  That is the only way to determine if you have a DVT (blood clot) .  Not to scare you but patting you on the head and sending you home is not an answer.  You might try some of the sports drinks or here we have smar****er which is water that contains electrolytes but doesn't have that salty taste that sports drinks do.  Blood work would be a good idea.  You would know if you have low potassium or not.  In the meantime you might try bananas and oranges.  Raisens are great but I don't know if you can have them yet.  check with the doctor before you eat anything you are not sure about.

Good Luck

The leg pain is a pain in the butt.  It feels like it is muscular but it also runs up the front of the leg.  Weird and sore.  As I said I am at the dietitian in an hour and hopefully she will be more helpful.

Thanks guys.

Oh my Jules,
I had a friend that was also afraid of spiders. She would make me hide the classroom tarantula (Carson) whenever she was coming even though he was in a cage. I had to actually remove him from the room. I had no problem with him- I even moved him around with my finger and talked to him every day. I like spiders except for Black Widows. I save spiders all the time, moving them outside.

Since I'm not a psychic, it's hard for me to post a day ahead on what I've done for that day.  Kind of an out of body experience.

But today, Wednesday, I plan to do the same as always... the view never changes if you ain't the lead horse.  I'll start with Starbucks and then work.  After that?.. ????

I have next week off. First time I've taken a vacation and not had anything planned to do with my time. I'll be absolutely miserable as I am the kind of person that needs activities.  I'm making my list... car servicing, dentist, etc.  Maybe that will help.

Glad to see everyone is up and running today (Wednesday).  I'm getting old, Jules, your timing and mine are messin'g with my feeble brain.

Hope you find out what's causing your leg pain.  Sciatica?

you've still got time to make some plans Janet.  Don't Don't Don't just sit around!  Do something that you've never done before.  Go to some museums in your town or see a play or something.  Of course, sometimes it is nice to just chill and read or something.

Sorry you'll be spending your time next week getting your car serviced.

Maybe you should come to Houston.  You could come to my health club and I could introduce you to a cowboy I met a couple of weeks ago.  Oh wait.. that's Candy who's into cowboys....

Only if the cowboys smell good....

Mostly, I just like to hear them talk.  Those Texas drawls really get to me...
