Morning all.  Well it is the beginning of day 3 for me over here.  I have had a dream run but came crashing early this morning.  My pain got a little bit out of control but that was okay.  I got the damn blues.  Just sitting here crying over nothing.  It's nearly 9.30 in the morning...the surgeon has been, i've been showered and changed and prissied up and feel 100% better.

Did anyone else suffer post surgery blues?  I always get day 3 blues and i blame myself for this one.  I realised this morning that when I did my visualisation I included the 3 day blues.  I don't know why i did that....excuse me but wind is coming out both ends!  Woops, sorry.  Anyway, my eyes are now dry, i have had my shower and i am feeling much much better and am looking forward to the day.

it is sunday afternoon here now. just turned 2.00 pm.  I am walking.  i started walking the day after the surgery but i can only do it with assistance because i have so many things attached to me and also because i still have the epidural in my back.

However, it is all coming out tomorrow except for the drain and then i can walk whenever i want.  one of the nurses will be taking me for a walk shortly.

To Lillee: The walking is easy. Maybe you can ask me specific questions when we are both online together.

Hi y'all:

Yes, the hormones being released in your system from sudden weight loss will give you the blues, just like having PMS. When I had my surgery, the nurses had me up and walking that night after surgery, every two hours, in the hospital. It's good for you. I was hooked up to a bunch of stuff, too, but they just helped me out of bed, got everything in the right spot and put me on the road down the hall. I didn't have an epidural (I had a nerve block when I had my two knee replacement operations on my right knee, however). I was only in the hospital for two days; I would've been out after one night but I had a "heart glitch" that the docs never did figure out what was wrong ... no blood clots or anything, just something made my heart beat too fast or something. The only thing the cardiac specialist could figure out was I was low on potassium (still am for some reason).

It's after 2 a.m. here in Louisiana; I work evenings so I didn't get home til after midnight. It was another frustrating night after Saturday night football games. Our sportswriters don't know the meaning of the word "deadline." My deadline is 11:30 p.m.; I got most of my stories after that time and I had to slop the copy on the page, make it fit and hope there weren't any mistakes. When I was a sports writer, I could write my story, take phone calls, put together a roundup and go into the backshop and paste up pages, and still make deadline. And I had to add the box scores for every game ... these folks don't. But then they're not the ones who get chewed out when deadline is missed ... that happens to me.

Ah well, one more day of work and then I get two days off. I'm tired and need to find a furry friend.

Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Hi All,
Herdy- I had some blues following surgery. It's a shock to the system. Just hang in there. And Eileen- a new kitty sounds like a good idea. You need a friend. The heck with the coworker that are not being supportive. Just do your job and collect your paycheck.
We just got home from our big vacation. It was the best vacation I've ever had I think. The humidity was quite something- I appreciate California weather so much. The travel was trying- 8 hours of flying and driving. My back is shot right now. The pain pill is kicking in so it's bedtime in a few minutes. I think Janet had some thundershowers in Dallas today. When we flew into Houston it was quite a show!
I'll try to post some pictures on my profile tomorrow. Hapy Sunday to all!

Good mornin' ya'll.

It's Sunday. I'll be firing up the George Foreman and puttin' on the bacon soon. Our grandsons did their 4 wheelin' without incident yesterday. The older I get, the more I worry about those things. Especially when we see so many tragic accidents on the news!!

Our son and DIL head home from WVa today. It took them 24 hours to get there. Our grandson said jeez, it only takes Dad and I 6 or 7 hours to get there. (They go up every fall for hunting). He doesn't take into account that his Dad has only been back from deployment a few weeks, and this is the first get-away they have had since then. Nice hotel, stop at a casino, a little alone time.

Weather is turning fall-like. Rain will begin this afternoon or evening. I guess we are ready for it. Heavy rain always makes our backyard a wading pool. But we don't go out there much. Watching GMA this morning makes me so glad we have flood insurance. You don't need to be in a flood zone!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hi Jules and Friends,

Hope you are feeling a bit stronger and "fiestier" each day.

I've got my head above water but just barely. At the moment the twins and their little sister are actually asleep at the same time which is rare let me tell you! We've had a busy weekend with lots of visitors. Erin hadn't been home with baby Briley who is almost 3 months old so many wanted to see her and the twins.

Our son and his girlfriend also came home for a quick overnight so it was very busy. They left this morning and took Lucy Erin's Yorkie with them. We'll pick her back up next Friday after taking a short Olympic Penninsula trip. Not much else to report. Cooking, cleaning, changing, burping, feeding, referreeing! But. . . loving it. Just glad I am not raising them!!

It's a mild early autumn weekend here. No work for me as for as subbing goes this next week. We'll follow Erin and the girls home on Tuesday and then take a few days to enjoy the beautiful early fall weather.

Sending warm thoughts to you all.

Karen C
