Surgery over and done with
Hi everyone. Well i am sitting up in a chair and it is all over. Had surgery at about 5.30 pm last night. I must say that i am glad they did an epidural. I am very pain free but i believe it is coming out tomorrow and then i will feel the pain.
I have been up and had a walk around the wards. The physio called in and gave me some tasks to do to get my lungs healthy again. I have a male nurse and he gave me a bed bath this morning. An interesting experience I must say. Had to put away all my prejudices for this one.
I had better go as i am due to do my breathing exercises. Have a great weekend ladies.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Jules,
Glad to hear you are doing well and I found the most painful part of the experience was the gas pressure from the actual surgery and then a few weeks later, there was a pulling sensation at one of the instrument sites, which many others experienced, so I knew it was nothing but healing going on. . .
As for male nurses, a good friend of mine went back to school in his late 30s to become a nurse and he was and still is a wonderful, caring individual and I am sure an excellent nurse. Things have come a long way over the past half century, but some changes take time to accept, I must say I might feel a bit odd having a male nurse do a bed bath though. . .
Wishing you the best recovery possible.
