Thursday-what's new this first day of Fall?
Hi Margo and my OFF family:
It's the first day of fall here but it's 87 degrees and heading up to the 90s again. Not exacting fall for me. I got through work last night OK, I thought, but then I looked at the business page and saw a big mistake in headline type ... ouch! Instead of "approves" I had "approve" ... not good. Needed that "s" to make it make sense. The person proofing it didn't catch it, either. I looked over the page a couple of times and missed it, too. Not happy with myself.
It was better being at work than being at home, though ... having something to do kept my mind off Scooter. A couple of people came up and asked me how I was doing; the guy who sits next to me asked me how Scooter was and I told him I had to put him to sleep. So he was sympathetic, too. He actually has kittens he's trying to get rid of ... but I'm not sure I want to get a kitten again. Still not sleeping well ... woke up several times in the middle of the morning coughing and couldn't stop.
I don't have to be in to wor****il 4 p.m. because deadline is later all week ... didn't know that yesterday so I still got done early.
Well, not much else. I plan on a nap before I go to work today. Have a good day.
Well now I am on my way to work.
Have agreat day everyone!!!!!
Carla,
Settling estates are a real mess. When my husband's granddad died, he left everything to my husband. Skipping over his two children and all the other grandkids. As a result, we bent over backwards to make sure everyone got some piece that they wanted that was Pop's. His Uncle came down with a trailer and took a schoolhouse clock, a Belter table, some Victorian chairs, etc. My husband helped him load the trailer. This was on a weekend. His uncle stayed with his sister, my mother-in-law, as he lived on Cape Cod. He left on Sunday and on Monday morning we get a letter from his lawyer contesting the will!
My mother-in-law and my husband never talked to him again. We won the judgement in Probate Court because we had proof otherwise. But it caused a permanent rift in the family. So sad.
I wish you luck with this.
Bev
