Hi. Hope everyone is getting some restful sleep. I am getting excited and can't sleep. We are getting a new puppy. Percy. Pick him up on Saturday. We have been dog-less since 2003 and have really missed having one. Can't wait.

Not much going on here otherwise. Oh, our son and his wife are expecting. They found out on Monday that they are having twins. They already have a soon-to-be five year old boy and a 2 year old girl. I think they are a little shell-shocked right now!

What's new with you today?

Cindy,

What wonderful news on both counts! I know how much you and Ron love dogs having seen you with Maggie.  What kind of puppy is Percy? I know he will fill your lives with love!

And double love arriving in the spring! Seems like those pregnancies have a way of arriving not so long after a family death. Like the "Lion King" circle of life, it reminds us that tho we grieve life does go on. In those new lives we see reflections of those who have gone on before us. I remember when I talked to Erin after they just received their twin news. I asked her if everything was ok. She replied with a pause, "I think so. . . Mom, there are TWO!!!!"

Percy is a labradoodle. They are supposed to be allergy/asthma friendly. The reason we haven't had a dog all these years is because our son and his wife have asthma/allergies. Mom, when she was alive, used to encourge us to get a dog because she knew how much we wanted one. I know she is smiling right now -- she would be really happy for Ron and I.

Matt is the only breadwinner of the family. We know they have enough love to give to four children! Just a bit concerned about the financial impact of adding two at once. Their little house was already bursting at the seams. He is a youth pastor and hasn't had a salary increase in a while as the church is feeling the economic crunch just like everyone else. We would love to be able to help them financially, but just can't right now.

They find out today whether the twins are identical or not. We are visiting them tomorrow so I'm sure we'll get to see the ultrasound photos.

Congrats on both of the exciting pieces of news I read and as for the twins making things burst at the seams, if we think back on how it was growing up, people managed just fine, it's the love that matters and I am sure those new babies will have lots of that. . .  somehow things will work out, they usually do

Good morning Cindy and OFF family to post later today! Happy Hump Day! Whhoooo...okay I wish my life away for the weekends.

Cindy how exciting...twins! Your family will be busy that's for sure but sometimes twins are easier...someone to play with but a 5 year old and a 2 year old...momma will be busy along with papa! Fun times ahead for sure!
I'm getting excited myself with baby-land...gonna have another granddaughter in late Dec. Maybe we will have a new one at Christmas time!

One of my elder volunteers is having a big garage sale, she's down sizing and I bought 2 beautiful paintings she wanted to get rid of. I also bought a lot of towels for the gal that use to do my nails, she goes through them like water! So Samantha will be glad to get the towels.

Everyone have a great day. We had a big storm last night with high winds. All the walnuts from the trees were flying off and banging on my roof and deck! Luckily we did not lose power but alot of people did. One of my volunteers just canceled because she has a big tree down in her drive way and can't get out yet. Yep, I'm thankful today! Hugs Debbie

Good morning everyone.  Glad to hear about everybody's good news.  Had a rough day yesterday.  Spent half the night on Monday barfing after eating some pizza.  That was not fun.  I think I'll just cross that one off my list for good.  Saw the disability lawyer yesterday and he said my case is winable.  He said maybe by Christmas or if we have to go in front of a judge by April.  Don't know for sure how we will make it money wise until then but we'll see.  I checked my height the other day and discovered that at 57 I have lost a 1/2 inch so I had to refigure my BMI and everything.  I now need to lose another 10 lbs according to it.  My husband says no that I will be too skinny.  I turned in my keys for work on Monday and picked up my things from my office.  It was a bittersweet experience.  Working in a nursing home you get attached to so many of the residents and of course the staff too.  I am planning another trip to Houston this weekend to spend the day with one of my sisters on her birthday.  I hope I can go through with it.  It's getting harder and harder to get away from the house.  I worry I'll get anxious and be too far away from my husband to deal with it.  Any time I have to go somewhere I can hardly stand it.  I'm pushing myself to do things though so I won't become totally housebound like I did before.  I get to see the therapist tomorrow so I will discuss it with her.  Have a good day.

Hi Cindy!

Lot's of good things coming your way!  How nice to have twins coming..!

Nothing much here, but I am taking medicine that says it can make you gain weight.  I am a little upset about that.

Have to catch up on yard work and house work.  I think I am going to let the house work go and stay outside.  That is, if I can ever wake up from these meds.

Anyone have anything to say about these two meds:  Neurontin and Flexiril?  Do they make you gain weight, let me know if you have tried them

Peace

Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Good mornin', ya'll.

TWINS - it seems like they are becoming more prevalant. On April 1, 1969 when I was pregnant, I had a friend call my parents to say I  had given birth to twins!!  Of course, then I got on to say "April Fools'. But the next week my OB-GYN did an ultrasound and OMG - twins!! Be careful what you joke about!!

Today I am going to try a small sewing project for my DIL. First one since my new shoulder. It's just small curtains for a cabinet at her work. Shouldn't be anything I can't handle.

Why is it that during season changes my DH and I can not agree on a thermostat setting? When he is cold, I am hot and vice versa. We finally even out, but it takes a few weeks.

My DH's new computer was delivered yesterday. Used to be when anyone got a new computer he was the 'go to' guy for setup etc. I swear he called me in there 8 times yesterday to help. Little stuff that made me think, 'has he just gone stupid or what?' I DID NOT say anything like that, of course.  But then I realized his old 'puter is about 4 years old and he will be 70 this year. So I figured that between his age and new technology I shouldn't be surprised. Patience!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning Cindy and everyone...

Cindy ....Congratulations on Percy and the TWINS!! I am a twin and we too were a surprise....everything will fall into place for your son and his family. Let us know if they are identical or not okay.

Sybul...I do hope you take that little trip...it really will be good for you to get out and be around other people. It will be hard but I know you can do it!!!

As for me...still have this darn cold....week 3 now...it is slowly getting better....hopefully by next week it will leave me!!!

Nothing new with me....same old....same old. Work for a few hours as always. Then I need to go get a few groceries at some point today.

Hope you are all doing well. Have a great day!!!

Many prayers going up...so many people in need.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d
