Good mornin', ya'll.

GRRR!!!! The first thing I did when I got to PT this AM was to ask for more challenging exercises. She chuckled and said my DR's PA called her yesterday to be sure she is NOT progressing me too quickly. Too fast will cause damage to tissue and muscle. It takes quite awhile to recover from a total new shoulder. My ROM & strength is WAY ahead of where it usually is 2+ weeks post op. She is manipulating me and doing stuff she is allowed to do, but I can't do those things. She took away the PT for my elbow since my elbow is normal. NOW I have just 4 exercises. I CAN increase to 30 reps 3 times a day ( I'll do 35, 5 times a day). I am forbidden to: lift & rotate my lower arm out from my body (like pulling my driver's side door closed, but I've been doing that with my right arm for years). Patience is NOT one of my strong suits. GRRR!!!!We are having one last summer hurrah this week. Temps in the low 90's all week.  But nights in the 60's and NO HUMIDITY!! Lovin' it!Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Hi my OFF family:

Thank you for all your words of comfort about Scooter. I know there will be those who will say (not on this board) that I didn't do enough to keep him alive, but I did not want him to suffer. I have been through the treatment with a cat in renal failure; it is not fun for the owner or the cat. Cinnamon, the most gentle cat in the world, got to the point he was fighting me. That told me he wanted to go, he wanted me to stop. Scooter, I knew, wouldn't even let me do that.

Didn't sleep well last night at all. Kept waking up, hearing meowing or seeing a cat jumping on the bed. Then I woke up with the sweats and had to go get an ice pack.

I had a long talk with Dr. Mary Kay ... that's a joke ... she's become my best friend, Mary Kay, in Michigan, but whenever I need a shoulder to cry on, she's there, and she really understands about losing a pet. She has replaced Margie as the person with wisdom and advice. So she told me to make sure I get a doctor's appointment set up for when my insurance kicks in (I know a few others have told me that, too). So I did that this morning. She also told me to space out my antidepressants (which I'm running low on) ... I will run out of them before my appointment and I can't get a refill anywhere. It's going to be rough. I wish I could find a shrink here before then. Until then, I have "Dr." Mary Kay.

I don't feel like doing anything today but I do need to get out for a little bit this afternoon. Anyway, not much else happening here. I guess I should get dressed and go do my running around.

Hi Eileen

Anyone that would tell you that you didn't do enough to keep Scooter alive should have a sock put in their mouth.  I had a cat (our first one Garfield) that died of renal failure right in front of me.  I took him to the vet (Lisa my daughter was 7) and he hydrated him. I had my neighbor look in on him the next day while we were at work and he managed to get himself to the back of closet and he could barely walk.  He wanted to die and I wish the vet would have just done it instead of letting him die on my kitchen floor.   You did the kindest thing for Scooter because you did this out of love for him and no other reason.

I know after Candy died I kept hearing her (she had a barking like meow) and kept looking for her.

You need to get out of the house because that is the best thing for you.  Go to Starbucks or the pool or somewhere.  Is there a WLS support near you that you can get involved in?  Anything to get you out and about.  I know your coworker has kittens he wants to give away but it took me 8 months to want another kitten.  If you get a kitten, you could end up with littermates and that makes life interesting.

Hang in there

Hugs

Sylvia
