OT: Scooter's gone
I had to make a difficult decision this afternoon and let my dear friend Scooter go. He was 16 years old and gave me such love and companionship. I know this was the right thing to do for him, but it was so hard. He was probably in renal failure, plus he was pooping outside the box and the poop was dark brown, like the consistency of chocolate syrup. The vet said he would only get worse, and this was something I knew. Although it was hard, I put him to sleep.
Scooter was my only friend here and now I feel so all alone. He came to me right after Kittle died; the office manager at the apartment complex where I lived in Grand Rapids said Scooter was shy and never came over to anyone. But he came right up to me. I said Scooter was sent to me by Kittle, to help Cinnamon and me after his death. But now there's no one.
He was a dear companion who helped me through the hard times. Goodbye old friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. We have had to put pets to sleep and it is such a difficult decision -- even though it's the right thing to do for our pets when they are so gravely ill.
I hope you will be able to get another kitty (when you are ready).

I have had to make that decision too many times. It is a very hard thing to do. Yes, they become part of the family and they give and allow us to give them unconditional love.
You will miss your friend, but please take care of yourself too.
Don't be alone, when the time is right, adopt a little baby kitty. It will need a home, and you will need a friend. Sometimes, that happiness takes away some of the pain. I know this to be true too.
