4 sleeps to go and HUNGRY!!

As the subject line says...4 sleeps to go.  I am getting so hungry!  I had all the family today and my sister and her partner from NZ.  The barbecue went great but I was sooooo hungry.  I have had all my drinks, lots of salad and water but I wanted something hot.  I cooked a zuccini slice for the family for while i am in hospital for one meal and i cut off a small corner piece to taste.  Yes it was naughty!  I feel great remorse.  I am about to have another protein shake and hopefully that will see me through.  Any tips for hunger over the next few days?  Maybe I will stay in bed tomorrow and read the day away.

Jules,

Clear boullion might help with wanting something warm. (If it is allowed) Each surgeon seems to have different guidelines.

The first two or three days were the most difficult mentally for me. I found that having a glass of water, taking a walk or brushing my teeth helped.

Stay busy and your time will come before you know it.

I'm curious Jules! What is a "zucchini slice?" Must be some sinful recipe that I would love to have as zucchini alone could not be "naughty!" I have zucchini given to me almost daily and am always looking for recipes. Share please!

Jules, stay busy. I overindulged my last few days. I don't recommend it but I also couldn't seem to believe that I would one day be able to enjoy most things again. If it's any help, for the first 4 months post rny I had no appetite. Things tasted different, my senses of smell and taste changed so much. It really helped the weight to fall off! Gradually I got back most of the "normal" senses but still don't care much for the taste or texture of steak which I used to love.

Hang in there; you're almost there. Do you have someone who will post and let us know about you following surgery? I hope so as it's so much fun to follow the journey of a new post op. Kind of lets us who have been around awhile relive it! Best wishes.

Thanks everyone. I am keeping busy but I think it was all the cooking yesterday. I have banned a heap of food from the house while I am pre-op. Family is understanding which is great.

See link for recipe for zucchini slice.
