Hi Friends!

Got home yesterday afternoon from two days at a park with a friend and my little tent trailer. Just three small incidents. One: I THOUGHT I had the trailer ball attached firmly to the truck. When we bumped over a railroad crossing I found out that NO it wasn't, as it bounced off the ball and skidded under the truck several feet. Thank goodness no one was behind me. And  thank goodness for the safety chains that I did get crossed and firmly attached! I got to the curb and got the truck stopped. Found out that the little lever I have to push down has a hidden piece under the hitch that has to be in just the right place to hold the ball firmly on the hitch. Gotta remember to watch out for those balls. They can be an accident looking for a place to happen. Anyway, lesson learned and learned well.

Incident number two: can't find my phone charger. Looks like it's packed neatly away in the trailer. Being a tent trailer where everything is neatly packed away, stowed, with other parts of the trailer firmly and tightly packed on top of things it is not an easy chore to retrieve it. I'm thinking easier to just go get another charger. Just have one with this phone and battery is about to run down. Other option is to get trailer out of garage, unlatch everything, raise the top, pull out the beds, raise the sink base, put the dining seat cushions in place, remove sleeping bags and pads and Luggable Loo stored on the floor. . . as I said think I'll just go get another one as I'm not sure where in the trailer it is!

Incident number 3: Packed a change of clothes then managed to leave them on my bed! Did get a nice hot shower each day so it wasn't so bad wearing the same clothes. When I got home I packed a set of clothes that will stay in the trailer including a pair of flip flops for trapsing to the bathroom at night time. My feet are just not so tough walking on gravel any more! Used to run all over the place barefoot without even feeling anything!

Other than that we had a wonderful relaxing time. A bit of Indian summer already here. Got up to about 80 each day and down to about 55 at night. Just perfect. Took several long walks, gathered wood for a couple of fires, met some nice people and most of all had time to catch up with a friend that I haven't seen enough of this summer. Lynn and I have been on our weight loss journey together. We became friends in TOPS and have both had RNY. Had it not been for TOPS I'm sure we would have never met and become friends. We are from such totally different backgrounds and I'm sure our paths would have not crossed. She's one of those friends that would drop everything and come running if I needed her to.

Well, folks I've blabbed on long enough. Make it a good week. Smile, say hello to a stranger, do something nice for yourself and someone else. It feels good!

Hi Karen and OFF family to come...special shout out to grammylew!

Karen you made me giggle...gotta check out those balls!!! Glad your tent trailer is okay and no one was behind you. Get that extra phone charger too...it's nice to have a spare.

Glad to be back to work, was at Hospice at Rose Arbor all weekend. Mom will be in heaven soon. I'm ready to just celebrate her life, she is a strong woman with a large family and with a large family you always have family dynamics!

Hubby came home from Kentucky yesterday, he got home and we went to see his mom. I'm so glad to have him back and mom just held on to his hand. He looks and sounds like Dad who passed away last June and mom has always asked my hubby what he thinks. I just told him to keep talking mom could hear him. We stayed for awhile last night it was just us in the room with her so it was nice to have private time with mom. Then his sister and her hubby came in so we left, giving them private time that they needed too.

So today is another day. The sun is shining and I will go for a walk later. After work it's back to Rose Arbor for awhile. Hugs to all. Debbie

Hi Karen!  Hello to everyone to post or read

Karen, sounds like you have fun camping.  I would love to go camping but my husband doesn't like it.  Someday, I am going to buy myself a little pop up trailer and go by myself if I have to.

Didn't do too much over the weekend.  Watched Ohio State play football.  Went to my in-laws yesterday.  Off my diet the weekend but today I am strictly back on it.

Today I have art class and have some errands to do later.  So, it is going to be a pretty busy week once again.

Results from my thryoid biopsy came out well. No cancer and just have to have the nodules checked every three months.  Also, have a goiter.  So, I am happy.

Go to see the spine doc on Wed.  I am hoping he can help me with those issues.  Then I will feel like a million bucks!

Got an invite to a clam bake in OCT...  YEA!!  I never ate a clam before, so this should be interesting.   Any instructions, encouragements, likes or dislikes are welcomed before I taste one!

Have fun today!

Peace

Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Mary, I go by myself if I have to. But I enjoy camping most with friends or family. My husband isn't crazy about it, but I have friends who love to go, grown nieces and nephews, and now my grand children will soon be old enough. I got tired of sitting around watching my husband watch baseball during all of the nice weather. The tent trailer gets me off of the ground, it's affordable and gives me a few of the comfy features but still feels like camping.

I've never been to a clam bake but it sounds like fun!

Good mornin' ya'll.

AHHH, Monday. Nothing is on my calander for today. A little eliptical, a little crochet. a little DVR shows, a bunch of shoulder exercises. I can do all that in my jammies, I think!!

Sometimes it gets a little vexing for this old lady when I go from one electronic device to another. Full qwerty keyboard on my puter where you have to capatalize everything that should be capitalized - OK I can do that. No reason to conserve space for e-mails etc.

Then I move to texting on my phone. It capatalizes after every . whether I need it or not. It also capatalizes the i when it should be done. Still a qwerty keyboard, but many 'symbols' are in different places. And I use 'text speak' to keep the message short. I am being rewarded for missplelling.

On to the iPad. Qwerty keyboard, but ALL numbers and symbols are on a different screen. I have to do my own capitals again, nearly for everything. The touch screen is so sensitive, if I should drag a finger I have an unknown word. Also, no arrow keys to use to go back to fix a boo boo. You have to try to tap on the exact spot then backspace and fix. But sometimes as I try to get to the spot, the iPad thinks I want to cut, copy, paste.

My GPS. Touch screen, but more of a TAP screen. If you don't tap hard enough it won't respond. The keyboard for putting in destinations etc, is in Alphabetical order! Now that's a pain. And to get a capitalized letter, you have to go to an entirely different screen, same with numbers.

Maybe I should just go back to the old pen and paper!

I hope everyone has a fantabulous, tech savvy, day!

Carolyn, I struggle with my laptop keyboard which is just a tad bit smaller than full size. I had the "texting" removed from my cell phone because I kept accidentally costing myself when I would connect to something without meaning to. Count me as just a very "basic" techy!

Hi All,
Feeling cranky- I called the diagnostic office and UPS did not pick up my CD images to deliver to SF... another extra day of waiting. This is so maddening. I'm on pins and needles and the da-- system is failing me too. I guess that's my life for now. Just waiting to hear the good or bad news!

Crank all you want Julia! I think I'd probably be kicking things. Don't recommend that for you my friend. No need to bruise or batter any other part of you.

Hang in  there. I know how badly you want your answers. And here all this time I have just loved those guys in brown with tight buns and nice legs! I'll have to revise my opinion if they don't get their act together!
