How far are  you from San Bruno? What a tragedy. One just never knows from minute to me how life can change in a direction never expected.

It's an hour away- if the traffic isn't heavy. If I had been in SF overnight I would have seen it from the hotel.

Good morning Eileen and OFF family,  happy Friday!

Eileen I'm glad Scooter is eating for you.
Seem like all of us are dealing with stress. Sigh.........

I do have wonderful news. My SIL finally has seen that mom is failing and isn't going to rebound. The pneumonia is winning the fight over a 87 year old frail woman. My SIL even gave me a hug before she left mom last night (she had to go to a funeral visitation). The other sister gave me more information...they are starting Hospice care. Mom will be transferred to Rose Arbor this weekend then when this sister gets her house cleaned, mom will move in to her house and continue hospice care there with a home health aide.
God has a plan and I will continue to "Let go and let God" as best I can.

Here's a Friday quote for you and I enjoyed thinking about it!

"I was surprised to find myself so much fuller of faults than I had imagined; but I had the satisfaction of seeing them diminish." -Benjamin Franklin

Like Ben Franklin we will always try to whip our eating habits into shape,(Ben has failed many times in whatever he worked on, trial and error) to embrace lifestyle change and to exercise and to keep our brains busy. Will we fail at times with our eating? Of course we are human, not perfect but we indeed learn along the way.

I love Ben Franklin ... he was so wise. He led such an interesting life, too. Did you know that his son (one born out of wedlock, back then would have been called a *******) sided with the British during the Revolutionary War, and that caused a big rift between father and son?

Debbie:

I am so glad your SIL is involving Hospice in your MIL's care. Hospice was wonderful to my mom. They made sure she was comfortable and pain-free.

I know this brings huge relief to you. I hope your MIL has a peaceful passing.

Good mornin', ya'll.

It's finally Friday!! Actually it doesn't matter to me, but I know it does to all the rest of you working folks.

Eileen, I hope Scooter improves. Could this move have affected him this way?

Janet, OMG so many meals out!!! Sounds like lots of fun.

Margo, I hope the situation with Michael continues to get better. My Sister's first husband screamed at her all the time over every little thing. She endured it for 30 years! Hang in there.

Debbie, that is wonderful, but sad news about your MIL. It is so hard for us, so easy for them, to let go.

Tried to sleep in bed last night! Nope, nadda, not gonna happen for another week or so. Tossed and turned and tried to get comfy for 15 min. Finally gave up when I had worked the pain level way up!! Why did I try so soon?  I get my PT eval next week, then PT 2-3 times a week for 8 weeks and another eval. I bet SHE will get my pain level way up there, too!! After this, a new left hip. Maybe by this time next year I'l finally be totally pain free. I won't know how to act!

Our son and DIL's refi closes next week. It is amazing how LOW the rates have gone. They can get a 15 yr mortgage for just a little more a month than they paid for their 30 year!!

Fall weather has arrived and I LOVE it. Windows open!! Fresh smells!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Carolyn, a friend of mine said when she moved from Michigan to California (she used to work at the Grand Rapids Press), her cat developed a UTI too ... she suspects from the stress. She had an older cat, too. This morning, Scooter was feisty and woke me up to be fed, but he turned his nose up at two selections of food ... so I wasted two antibiotic pills. Maybe he'll pick at them later. He did lap at the one can and get some of the liquid (and so maybe the pill I crushed. He's now back to sleeping by the laundry basket.

I really think he may have chronic renal failure. In which case, on Monday, I may have a tough decision to make.
