Busy morning and I'm just getting to this. Sorry!

Anyhow, there was no need to worry about the food at the birthday potluck yesterday since I didn't have time to stop and eat a thing until about 4:00, and then it wasn't much. Got home at 8:30, so dinner was more of a snack.

Here it is;

bkfst burrito
beef tips on rice (couple tbs each), veggie salad, and a bit of LF SF banana pudding
cottage cheese w/ applesauce and walnuts
slice of cheese

80 oz water, 2 lattes, 2 protein coffees

Late or not, I'm ready to jump on board.

Wednesday's choices:

coffee
Yoplait lite parfait
coffee
cottage cheese and 1/2 peach
chicken and green beans
protein coffee
nsa Edy's fruit bar (25 cal)
salmon and vegetable salad
jello salad with cottage cheese
skinny cow bar (100 cal)
cherry tomatoes

That's the order I ate them.  My meals are often out of order and a little bizarre, but I'm sticking to the program.  It's getting harder not to graze as the scale goes down.

Why is that?

See you tomorrow.

Thank you Susan.

This was a good day! And YAY for the scale moving in a positive direction.

Now, believe me, I'm not one to be calling a kettle black, Lord knows I can graze with the best of 'em, but is there a certain thing that triggers your grazing? Like snack food, or do you just grab anything when it hits you to eat?

Lately I've been eating watermelon in the evening because I find that I'm really not hungry, but thirsty. The watermelon satisfies both....all that liquid plus some chewing. Don't know what I'll do when they go out of season, probably go back to almonds.....or bed!,,LOL

Oh those wonderful Arkansas melons! Makes my mouth water. A story told by my mom about my dad:  "Your dad used to go on "chicken Roasts and they'd have watermelon too, but I NEVER went!" Couldn't figure out why until she told me that the "boys" would steal the melons out of a farmer's field and snatch a chicken or too from someone's yard for their "roast.". . . Ah the good ole days!

Sitting on my ass triggers my grazing.  Whether I'm at the computer or watching TV, my mind continuously goes back to "What can I eat?"   I used to blame it on boredom, but most times I'm not terribly bored.  It's just such a habit, one that I thought I'd broken.  It's better when I read or crochet while I watch TV, but the urge to put the book or the yarn down and eat intrudes over and over again.

That's why I drink so much coffee.  I love it, it's warm and tastes good, and it gives me something to do with my hands.  Cold drinks don't do the same for me.  I'm making better choices when the grazing monster takes hold, with the veggies and the salads, but the craving for junk remains.  I stay away from the simple carbs as much as possible, and that helps.  But my brain will not quit!  I figure that as long as I stay strong, eventually I'll shut the damned thing up.

One day at a time.

Good thing I'm so stubborn.  I won't give up.  I didn't go through all this WLS stuff to get fat again.  I know when I stick to the plan, I lose well.  I'm down 5 lbs in less than a week.  7 more to go.  And 5 weeks to do it in.

Yup.  Gonna do this!

5 lbs!!!  Wonderful!  That should be incentive right there. But.....I totally understand about sitting at night thinking about food. I've even considered going in for hypnotherapyl. No, REALLY!  I have a grocery list of things I'd have them help me with starting with grazing, exercising and standing up straight.

I tried hypnotherapy years ago.  They couldn't get me to go under.  The hypnotist kept telling me to let my mind go blank.  I told him he had to be kidding.  After several tries, we both gave up.

It does help when you start with a blank canvas.  I actually lost about 100 lbs with hypnosis once. We know how that worked out in the end, but these are things that are habits I might actually be able to break if I could have a bit of help with it.

oh oh - I think I am sea sick. Feels like this boat is rocking too hard.

Vertigo & nausea = yuckness.

Just ate an apple & 2 cups of popcorn. had cottage cheese earlier, not nutritious but I don't care. It stayed down.

Back to bed with a bunch of cats for warmth. they hog the electric blanket.
