.......and apparently I'm up for the day.....

So I grabbed a cup of coffee and here I am.  Thought I'd sit a spell and catch up.  It's been a busy week for me, and today I have a break from running around.  Since last Wednesday there hasn't been one day that I've had a totally "at home" day.  This looks to be it.

There's been a lot of eating out this week.  I now have dishes of leftovers lined up in the fridge, in the order they need to be eaten.  I haven't cooked at all.  Italian dinner on Suday was enormous, ate 1/4 of it at the restaurant, and will finish the final quarter of it today for lunch.  The amount of food served was ridiculous!  It ended up being 4 very inexpensive meals.  And for the past two nights there have been free dinners through work (even though I'm no longer working), at very nice restaurants, put on by the pharmaceutical reps, that were as much an excuse to re-connect with my old co-workers as anything.  More leftovers.  And very good food, and healthy choices.  I could get used to this....

Nothing much planned for the next few days.  It's gonna be about 90 both days, so I may try to find a nice cool cave to hibernate.  I know I won't be doing yard work.

How about everyone else?  Any exciting plans?

Candy

Good morning Candy and all who follow.

Kellie (the friend who lost her home to fire) still has not seen hide nor hair of the insurance adjuster.  He said maybe today.  Told her if she had State Farm she could just snap her fingers.

Another friend who had WLS bought a bike.  She went out riding and crashed it making a turn.  She is now on crutches for 8-10 weeks.

Just another day for me.  Gonna try to watch some TV.  Then,of course, work.

Mary and I got our new entertainment.com discount books.  Decided to use it every weekend for a while.  Made out a schedule for the next 2 months.  Once a week we will try a restaurant we have not eaten at before.  But over the next 9 weeks, we will be using two places we have used in the past.  Gotta make exceptions for real good places.  This week I am taking her to Salt Grass.  I don't believe we have eaten there together, but we have both eaten there.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Morning Candy, George and those to come,

Last night I went and spent time with my wee ones, Vaughn and Avery, we had pizza and played games and I read them two bedtime stories, then got to see my son, as he got home just before I was leaving, poor guy, he works like 12-14 hour days, being a professional is not a cake walk.

Today is just another work day, oh joy!  Busy days at work, which is actually good, just the people are challenging, two more work days including today, spells HAPPY!

Tonight is my time to hang with Owen and my AA home group meeting.  Tomorrow is an early exit day, at least I hope it works out that way, even with Earl approaching, I still would like to get home and do some much needed house chores so I can enjoy my weekend and vacation guilt free, I've really been slacking at the house stuff, but I choose to do other things when I have the opportunity, as the dust bunnies, well they will always be there another day. . .

The weekend plans are Saturday a.m. Barix support group, after which I just have no clue, no real plans which means I will probably be busy as anything.

George, sorry to hear about your friend's situations, saw my son last night and in the last week, he has lost two of his peers, one a high school friend who was killed in Iraq, left behind a pregnant wife, the other a co-worker of his when he was in college, working at a restaurant for 4 years, a woman, who he said was a real sweetheart, well her estranged husband, dropped off their 2 children and killed her and then himself. . .  the world we life into today is so full of stressors and sad experiences to be had. . .  anyway, hope things resolve themselves. . .

Ok, gotta run, have a great day everyone and I wish strength and peace to all.

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Candygirl and OFF family,
It's a "Friday" for me, our office is closed tomorrow. Long weekend...YIPPPPEEE!
Laureen, lots of stuff with your family and friends, sometimes it seems this world is "desensitized".

George I'm sure that insurance adjuster will be there today...it's a holiday weekend, you would think that would be taken care of ASAP! Losing a home to fire is indeed devastating.

Hubby is leaving for Kentucky Friday evening to go 4-Wheeling and I will relax. Granddaughter Rozzie will be spending the night tonight and we will go to the beach tomorrow. That child is a fish!

Saturday is Bariatric support group and I plan to go. Finally I'm feeling better and stronger.
Hugs to everyone, let's all do something fun this weekend, something you normally don't do and report it later. Now if you don't ride a bike be careful, you don't want to be like George's friend and wipe out! OUCH!

Good morning all,

The foxes and nice kitty have stopped coming on my deck. Instead, a very adorable raccoon has been eating the cat food during the night. My 7 furbrats go balistic when it is out there. Annie scratches at the door, she WANTS to get it, the others snap their tails and make a racket.

We are attending an outside party on Sunday. The temps are predicted to be in the mid 60's. Shiver. The 90 degree days have been nicer.

Janet got me thinking about my boring menu so last night I decided to shake it up and cooked chicken hot sausage with peppers and onions. Nope, I'll stick with chicken thighs.

Can't think of anything interesting so I'll go have breakfast.

Kisses

Hi Candy and all my OFF friends,
My stomach is so upset this morning.  I've been taking different meds for allergies and they are wreaking havoc.  I haven't taken them in about 9 months and now I know what caused my joint pain too.  My knees feel so arthritic.  So I stopped taking them yesterday.  Hopefully, they will be out of my system by the weekend with my grands.  Right now though I feel like I could barf.
I got a birthday card from my nail salon for a free manicure.  So I'm going tomorrow to get my nails done for the weekend.
Not much else new with me.  Blessings to all.

Good morning Candy and everyone.....

George...you are right...I have had State Farm all my life....they are always there immediately. Some insurances my be a little cheaper but you get what you pay for!!!

As for me....I work about 3 hours this morning and am then am on weekend time until Tuesday....woooohoooo!!!

My BFF had surgery on her foot yesterday. She came home after surgery and I stayed with her all day until about 8 last night. She has a cat that sheds something awful. I am allergic to cats!! I had to do Nebulizer treatments during the night. I am so sick, congested, and my eyes are all swollen and itchy. I take allergy meds and eye drops but it isn't enough when I am at her place. I won't be staying there for long today. She is doing good so she will be fine on her own.

I talked to Gracie yesterday...she asked how many more days until she can come back to Camp Nana's....what a sweetie!!

I best get back to work. Everyone have a great day!!

Please continue to wear those GOLD ribbons...thank you!!

Prayers to so many in need.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

I am actually taking a FOUR day weekend this weekend! We're going to take a little stay-cation and get some resting and relaxing done in addition to getting the garage organized and the yard work caught up. Four days should be enough time for all that, I think. The garage is already cleaned out of everything that needs to go away, we just need to organize the remainder.

Hi Candy and my OFF family:

I slept later than I wanted ... til after 10 a.m.; got up at 8 and rolled over and went back to sleep, then the next thing I knew, Scooter was meowing and nagging me to get up again and it was after 10. Guess I was tired. I kept getting up in the middle of the night with night sweats and didn't sleep all the way through; this has been going on for awhile. Don't know what's up with that.

I finally got some of my big artwork/photos up on the way ... for awhile I thought I had lost some of them, but one of the crates was in the bedroom closet. So I unpacked a couple of the boxes and hung a few pictures yesterday (not all, but all the boxes are unpacked). Almost looks like home. The biggest picture, my big sofa picture of Yellowstone after the fires in 1989, is still in the box; I need to clear off the couch so I can stand on the couch and hang the picture.

Well, back to work today. Football starts somewhere, I'm sure. So I'm sure it will be busy tonight. Have a good one.

Not doing too much today.  Going to rest and try to get things together.

Hope everyone is doing well and prayers to all
