Don't compare yourself to others
From my Eating Coach...this is so true!! Hugs Debbie
Sure, in your head, it is nice to come out on the winning end of a comparison but honestly, if you are taking the time to compare, you are probably looking for justification of your actions or self in a situation where you are not sure if you are in the right.. So comparing doesn't really change things, it just focuses your attention away from an honest assessment of what is going on and lets you off the hook because you are not as bad as XYZ.
And if you end up on the losing end of a comparison? What then? Will it motivate me to work harder because I can't run a 5k as fast as So-and-so? Maybe, maybe not. But wouldn't my energy be better spent in the doing of what I am trying to accomplish?

Hi Connie,
Ya know girlfriend, slow and steady wins the race in the long run. Leaning new habits and sticking to them. We will always struggle but just how much we struggle is up to us.
I too had regain and it's coming off very slowly. Lost 10 pounds with my emergency small bowel osbt. surgery but that is not the way to lose the weight is it? Nope.
I'm just keeping on...keeping on. Trying to be mindful what I put in my mouth....and exercising.
Today after work I'm going to work out in the pool, get there early and work out with some light weights and do a lot of walking lunges in the pool. It's amazing how your body declines without exercise! I want my firm body back and it will get there in time...
I feel pretty lucky, I've never compared my weight loss to others, all of our bodies are different. It's interesting to watch people kind of freak out if someone lost a great amount of weight in support class. You gotta think, how are those people losing weight? Are they really eating or just eating Popsicles and crackers? Yeah...we never compare ourselves to others. Not good.
