It's Friday!
Well it's Friday here in Australia and I have the day off. It is a beautiful day out there and I am stuck inside doing book work. I am going to make myself a sandwich and go and sit in the sun in about 30 minutes.
I am off to see my surgeon and dietitian next Tuesday then it will only be 23 days until surgery. I am starting to get butterflies when I think about it. I am also doing some visualisation stuff for the surgery. I have had major abdominal surgery in the past so I think I know how bad it is going to be. I have seen the operation performed so I have pictured myself under surgery and how my recovery will be. I keep telling myself that half the batttle is fought in the mind.
The weather this weekend is going to be beautiful and sunny although the breeze can be a bit cool. We are going down to the river for a picnic tomorrow and on Sunday my girlfriend and I are going out while our hubbies are playing golf. Hubby thinks I am going to start playing golf when the weight comes off, but I have news for him and it's all bad. I can't hit a golf ball to save my life. Apart from that I love him having time away with the blokes as it gives us girls time as well.
What's everyone else up to this weekend? Better go back and hit the books. Bye.
Came to work early cuz I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep, got a lot of work done before 7am. Now I will leave work early today but plan on putting 8 hrs. in.
Planning on taking it easy this weekend and just sitting at the beach, relaxing in the sun and reading a book. Do a little swimming now that my incision is healed from my small bowel obstruction and removing all those nasty adhesion's.
Take care all and enjoy your weekend. Several of you are in my daily prayers. Life seems to be "happening" to a lot of us right now. I'm picked myself up and dusted myself off and kickin' down the road to mindful eating, exercise and trying to kick some of this pain I have from surgery out the door! LOL Hugs everyone! Debbie
Today I will clean up the house as much as I can. We have my daughters dog here, with my 4 & so much dog hair. At least it will be nice this weekend. Have a great one!!!

Good mornin', ya'll.
I sure have missed all of you. I have been in OR. Our oldest grandson's wedding was very beautiful. I expect he and his new bride will have a wonderful life together. After the wedding my DH and the 2 NC grandsons came home to NC. I stayed in OR to babysit while our daughter and SIL went to FL for a few days for their 20th anniversary. It was a very busy week there as it usually is when there is no school. Our grandson had football practice 6 hours each day!!! Wow. Our granddaughter had a summer science project her parents didn't know about. I overheard her talking to a friend about it, saying neither of them had the paper so they didn't know what they were supposed to do. So I told our daughter, she e-mailed the teacher and got the info e-mailed to us. SOOOO she and I spent the entire week working on this very involved project. WHY do kids do that??
When I got home I got a very bad sinus infection and viral conjunctivitis. I got the same thing when I was in TX last year. What is it about flying that does this too me? So many germs on everything I guess.
I am finally feeling human today and I'm gonna attempt to make Outback Onion Soup. It is so good at the restaurant. My DH found a recipe that says it is just like the original. We shall see.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!
Busy at work today which is nice because it makes the day go faster. We are going to Costco tonite to get all the stuff we need for my Mom's birthday picnic at our house Sunday. It's supposed to get into the 90's again here in the next week. We had a whole week of being in the 60s at night and 70s during the day. I'm going to miss those days.
I'm starting to see all the advertising for the fall and Christmas holidays and the stores are switching in the merchandise. It seems to move so fast.
Not much new to report. I hope everyone's health improves.
Hugs,
Bev
Once again- thank you so much for your caring responses. I've cried enough. It's time to live again. My back is improving and a friend is going to drive so tonight I do BUNCO! I can take my pain pills and laughing will do me good. My boss has other therapists covering my school- they are angels. Yesterday I called and guided them through my list of kids. It took about an hour and a half but I just couldn't see putting through the extra work of flying blind. I'm bored to tears anyway. If my job wasn't so far away and if I could work a little without putting my disability in jeopardy I could help in person. I'm sleeping better thank goodness. Enough rambling... Happy Friday!

G'day my OFF family:
That's in honor of our new Australian friend. I'm not much of a golf fan, either. I used to live on a golf course in a condo when I was in Michigan; beautiful place, but I never golfed. When I was a sports writer, I had to cover golf, and thought it was boring. As someone once wrote, it's a beautiful walk spoiled. Now I live in Louisiana and the view isn't so nice; I have a little front yard that is all dirt and brown grass and beyond that, I can see the street ... there's an assisted living center across the street, so I see the senior center vans and the ambulances coming and going.
The temperatures are finally dropping here. It's 83 this morning, the same temp as yesterday morning when I went to the pool. It was great ... you didn't have to worry about frying out there. The pool was a little cooler but still nice.
I was so busy last night. I was figuring on four pages ... three sports and one business. Then I got thrown two Opelousas pages, too ... so I had six pages to do. I got the business page done, then started the Opelousas pages, got those done by 8:45 p.m., then started in on the Monroe sports pages (someone else helped me out and picked up the scoreboard page, which was good otherwise I don't think I would have finished on time). With help, I finished about five minutes late only. Geez, I didn't even have time to go to the bathroom until after deadline! Tonight, we have these high school football scrimmages (preseason games) ... we have some tomorrow night too. It's going to keep things hoppin'.
Well, that's all from me. Hope everyone has a good day.
the past few mornings it has been delightfully cool--it's only about 74 * now- i just walked the mail over to the post office-beautiful breeze....
life at home still scattered....
hugs and prayers
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
