Sorry about your arthritis ... I too have spinal arthritis and degenerative disc disease, arthritic knees and feet ... but I had those when I was 355 pounds too, and they just haven't improved at all as I've lost weight (haven't really gotten worse, either and in fact I've regained a half inch since I've lost weight).
I too can't take NSAIDs, so I'm on vicodin and get shots in the back four times a year. I tried celebrex for awhile for my knee (when I had patellar tendinitis) and it didn't really help. Now I don't have a patellar tendon but I still have severe knee pain after the replacement and revision. I use a lot of ice on my back and knee, as well as a topical called BioFreeze, which helps a lot.
Good luck on the thyroid; Carla had hers removed in 2009 (you probably know this). It's scary but thyroid cancer is curable so hang in there.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone--nothing going on around here. This morning I need to take my daughter for her physical therapy appointment and then to the college to get her books. That's exciting for her and we're both looking forward to the start of fall classes!

Mary, sorry you are suffering.
Hubby and I had a talk last night after my assignment of giving him a letter with my feelings in it. (psychologists assignment) We are going to try some new things. He was not upset. He did not take ownership either but he is willing to work on it. I have another appointment tonite.
I got through yesterday and today, so far, on liquids only - woohoo. It's almost lunch-time and my stomach is growling but I can hold out. Tomorrow - cottage cheese, cream soup, yogurt and puddings - yay.
Why do I procrastinate cleaning for a party? I have so much to do before Sunday.

Hi Janet and my OFF family:
I think I did too much unpacking/moving thing yesterday because my back hurts today; plus I'm tired and I know I slept well enough. I got the last box unpacked in the living room, then moved the little bench over to the spot where the boxes were (didn't know where else to put it; it doesn't look too bad there).
As I was unpacking the box, I got a package from my friend Margie's daughter Lori Jo. She had found some stuff Margie wanted me to have. The first was an envelope with a bunch of papers she had saved for me; some of it I don't know why she wanted me to have but oh well ... the box had some stuff I had given her (like a Santa cup I had made for her, some photos I sent her, but I can see why Lori Jo didn't want the photos). Anyway, some of the stuff was nice, some I probably won't keep, but all had Margie's touch on it. Lori Jo said she still doesn't want to talk about her mom yet; it's hard for some people. I feel better talking about her, but I can understand how she feels. Everyone deals with grief differently.
Anyway, back to work tonight; I'm doing sports all week and high school football starts this week ... yuck. But last week I got to do business too so that's something. Keeps me hoppin'. Monroe's business "section" is one page.
Well, have a good day. I need to go on to other pages and then get into the shower.
