Girlfriend's box of questions.
So sorry I didn't get to this yesterday. Just got busy and forgot. I'll be super busy the whole day, so won't have time to respond, but this is a good one for us to get to know some interesting things about each other. Have fun!
What is the oddest job you have ever held?
Well, I'll let you decide:
gas station attendant (when we pumped the gas, checked oil and tires, and washed windows)
short order cook
nurse's aid in a sanitarium
private duty nurses aide
cosmetology instructor
salon consultant (helped design and open a salon)
Medicare biller
payment processor for a hospital biling dept
legal assistant
And of course, being a hairdresser can sometimes be pretty odd, but I've loved it for a very, very long time!!!

Tow truck driver and truck mechanic - hated both with a passion.
The X had a good job in advertising. He bought an old tow truck with plow for our long driveway. Decided to quit a good job and go into business for himself. I was driver when he needed the BIG RIG, mechanic (handed him the damned tools & put them away) did the books, answered the phone and really really hated every minute. 20 years of torture. Did I mention - I hated it?

The oddest for sure was selling lightbulbs over the phone. The most fun, working in a toy store during high school.

Oddest job was probably working "on the line" at a french fry processing plant. As the peeled potatoes would roll down the moving line ( And I have extreme motion sickness!) I waited with my rubber gloves, apron and hairnet on! cute huh? I had a little sharp knife that was for cutting out any "eyes" that I saw coming down the belt! I had to grab a potato that wasn't totally clear of "eyes" and cut sny out as quickly as possible, put it back on the line, and grab another one. This was swing shift during summers out of college. My dad would know I was home by the smell wafting in with me. They would blanch the fries in ho****er and then something really bad smelling. I'm sure it was some kind of preservative. Anyway, I sure didn't attract many young men that summer. Ever see the "Laverne and Shirley" where they are working in the bottlling plant? A lot like that!! This job probably clinched my desire to seek more education!

One of the hardest and probably the oddest job I've had was as a substitute teacher. You haven't lived by the seat of your pants until you've tried that! My first job was at Taco Bell... Karen reminded me of that one with her smell story. I was soaked through with the smell of onions during that job. I also worked at Montgomery Ward in "Fine Jewelry" (buying diamonds at Wards- seems funny now.)
