Hey y'all it's Monday

It's my weekend ... so how are y'all doing? I couldn't sleep. I kept waking up after sleeping for a half hour, coughing and gagging, or sweating (and in an air-conditioned apartment!). I tried cough drops, my rescue inhaler, now I'm out in the living room having a cup of tea and watching TV. I'm tired enough ... I tried to read and start to doze off, but then I wake up coughing again. Finally I gave up.

Not much else happening; no big plans for my days off other than unpacking, some shopping, maybe exploring if I feel adventurous ... I want to get a haircut (don't think I can afford to get it colored this time but it desperately needs cutting).

Well, what's up with you?

Good morning Eileen.  Thanks for cranking this baby up.

Make sure to let me know as soon as you can if you will be coming into Dallas.  This way I can get the night off from work and get the tickets to the game.

Today the plumber will be by to install the new water heater.  I posted on another discussion board that it was a ho****er heater and some smart aleck said why do you heat ho****er.  LOL.  $650 I was not expecting to spend.  Glad it was a three pay day month last month.

My Rangers have had a rough week on the west coast.  Lost two out of three to the Angels and A's, while taking two out of three from the Mariners.  Still lead by 7.5 games, but they need to kick it into gear now.  Would love to see them sweep the Yankees this week.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

I will let you know ... still waiting to hear if I can get Aug. 22 (the day of the baby shower) off. I finally e-mailed Stacey tonight before I left. I saw the request sitting in her basket, so maybe she hasn't gotten to it yet.

Yeah, I think allergy cough, or esophageal spasms ... not sure which. I've been off two of my allergy meds because I don't have insurance yet (haven't paid my cobra for July or August because I couldn't afford it, won't get insurance here til October). Got a Walgreens drug card, so I'll look into getting one of the drugs and see how much it will cost me. This is the one I either packed/pitched when I was getting ready to move from Michigan. Haven't found it yet in a box, so I think I probably pitched it. It's an asthma/allergy pill, really helps. Plus I don't have my nasal spray. I think it's the high humidity.

Good Morning Eileen and all,

We had a big day yesterday. Took the twins to the park, shopping for new shoes and "earrings" (sticker type), then out to lunch and home for a nap. After their nap all of us including Baby Briley went for a walk.

So I was ready to ca**** in at 8pm! Actually slept pretty soundly until about 4am which is a long spell for me! I've already changed my bed and will start gathering my things in an hour or so. Want to hit the road early and make it home by early afternoon.

My son in law got home yesterday afternoon and the girls head back to daycare this morning. They have so much to do in the next 3 weeks but I keep reminding myself that they are young and I am not! They have to pack and move out of their current house. They'll be moving in with Josh's parents for the next couple of months while their new old farmhouse is being remodeled. They'll do as much as they can before their money runs out and then move in. I do not envy anyone and am glad it is not me!!! Erin will start working part time in a couple of weeks and will just work 2.5 days per wee****il January.

Nothing else new around here so I'll close wishing you all a good day.

Hi Eileen and all
Just checking in before I head off to work.  This is my final week of summer teaching.  I haven't hated it as much as I thought because my students have been wonderful!  It's been a good, but tiring, six weeks.
It's sure been one hot summer!  I bet that we have rivaled Louisiana here in Canada for the heat.  I can't remember it ever being this hot.  Today it's only supposed to be 83 degrees, but the humidity will make it feel much hotter.  We've had many days of 90-95 degree temperature.  I'm really looking forward to the fall and cooler weather.  However, I know that i will be wishing for hot, humid weather when it gets cold and windy here.
Went out for dinner Saturday with siblings and nieces and nephews.  I ate moderately but when the rolls passed me and the anniversary cake (my sister and brother-in-law were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary) I felt like I was missing out.  I really wanted a slice of the cake and watched my brother, who was sitting beside me, eat two!  It was very hard for me to say "no thanks".  My family were all extremely complimentary about the physical changes in me and it made me feel wonderful, but I still felt I was missing out on something when I couldn't eat the cake!  Does that ever change??
Everyone, have a good day.

Morning Eileen, Rest of the Gang!

Sorry to reach that you are having allergy issues that are interfering with your sleep and hope that you can enjoy your days off. ..

Well seems I am just packing life into my weekends, I certainly did a lot of everything this past weekend. . .  started with my Barix support group on Saturday, home to meet up with an old friend I had not seen in about 2 years, when I opened the door he just stood there and said how wonderful I looked, asked where the rest of me had gone to, kept staring at my face and saying how incredible I looked, it was nice, as we all know the further we come from the surgery, the more people forget how we once looked. . .  anyway, it was nice, he had his own journey of weightloss, he lost over 120 pounds via Overeaters Anonymous and is looking pretty good himself, it was great catching up, then I took him with me to a pool party, where he know some of the people, as he is a fellow AA member who has moved around a bit since his Mom passed away two years ago, but now he is looking for a "gay friendly sober environment" to rest his hat on for a while. . .  so I introduced him to a couple of folks who I knew were renting out rooms or something. . .  after that, went home took care of Roxie and then went to my women's AA meeting, Friendly's afterwards, where I had a scoop of their delicious sugar free vanilla ice cream, home to bed. . .  yesterday Tony came down and we went to breakfast, then home to hang out, we made our reservations for our vacation during the week of Labor Day, going to Ocean City, Maryland (can't wait), met the neighbors new dog, Cabo, a beautiful big black Great Dane, Roxie was all excited, but he is a bit shy yet, but I think they might become fast friends in time, though they are going to take another one, that is older and has not been placed because of his age, anyway, I cooked a delicious leg of lamb with roasted potatoes, zucchini and tomato and onion salad for an early dinner for Tony and I, he had to leave early as he got a call while at my house that his uncle had passed away, so he wanted to go spend some time with his Mom, as it was her last living brother, so I finished my food prep, laundry and then Owen called and he came by and walked Roxie with me and then we went to hang out at Starbucks for an hour, after which I came home and went to bed. . .  and then I wonder why I am so tired (lol). . .

So here I sit, working today and hoping to get through the week with minimal problems. . .

I am trying to catch up on what I missed over the weekend on here, hope you all are doing well, wishing you peace and strength to get through whatever life brings your way. ..

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Eileen & all. We have finally gotten a little rain here. I canned tomatoes yesterday & then my sone called & brought hamburgers over to grill. As always, the kids were in the pool, & the mud hole. They have named it Lake Horten!! It's a riot because they have to "shower off with the hose" when they are done. Ouw well is 120 ft. deep
& tha****er is cold! Oh to be young again.

Today I will just chill out, I hope. This weekend we have a wedding shower, & next weekend a wedding. Both are 2 hours away. At least I get to see some of my grands. Hope you all have a wonder Monday!!
