It's Sunday...so what's new with you?
I've been AWOL myself due to busy busy busy. Seems we're never home on the weekends. Two weeks ago I went to Des Moines for a support group meeting and met a couple of OH friends who had lap band. We went to lunch and had a nice visit.
Last weekend we took a trip to Illinios to visit my parents and brothers. We try to go every 2 months, as Mom is 80 and Dad 82. They are both still in relatively good health (although if you ask Mom, she isn't). I cry every time we leave and Mom does too.
Yesterday I spent with our daughter, SIL and 2 grandkids at a cabin. We had a wonderful day and it was fun watching the girls (age 4 and 20 months) fishing. They were so thrilled to catch fish. Jett, the youngest wanted to hold the fish (and did), but Sena was afraid of them.
They will come here next weekend as it is our daughter's 15 year class reunion. They'll have a family picnic during the daytime then we'll watch the girls while they spend the rest of the reunion "for classmates only".
Sena calls us the "far, far away grandma and grandpa", as SILs parents live close by. She never wants me to leave. We are 2 hours from them, but to a 4 year old, 2 hours is far, far away.
We'll get to have them for over a week starting 8/6 so I'm really looking forward to that.

Ruth,
I am catching up on what I missed the last couple of days, as I have not been here as often as usual either, work keeps me hopping and then it is summertime and my weekends are busier than usual (and that is saying something for me (lol); so no matter how often, we are always happy to see you. .. I sincerely hope the situation surrounding your Dad smoothes out, it is never easy to watch ones' parent age and decline.
Sending prayers and hugs your way. . .
Wishing you peace and strength to get through these tough times.
Laureen
