Hi Margo and my OFF family:

Good to see so many people online today. I was running around this morning. It's payday so I had to spend my money. Went to the apartment office and paid my pet deposit, then to Starbucks for a vente iced coffee (too hot for regular coffee), then to the crappy credit union for money ... will change credit unions next week. Then over to the mall for Petsmart and Lowe's and buying stuff for the cat and the apartment. I was going to go out for Mexican food, but Gertie the GPS sent me to a location that was no longer open ... so we'll try again another day.

Got lost going to the mall because I thought I could get there by going by I-20 ... and I can, but I drove by the exit; you really can't see it from the other side of the road. So I had a nice drive, found West Monroe, the big theater complex. West Monroe has this area called Antique Alley. There's also supposedly a hair stylist there that only charges $50 for a cut and color ... and I really need a cut ... so I may check her out next week. One of the guys I worked with says his wife goes to her and really likes her.

Annette, we all have family members who give us problems. I have a sister who, while she doesn't make remarks about my image, is not very family friendly, if you know what I mean. She won't help with my mom at all, won't even go see her most of the time. On Mother's Day, she spends it with my brother Ed's ex and my niece, but calls her own mom ... and my mom is OK with that, always makes excuses for her. She was the one person I didn't tell about my WLS pre-op because I knew I'd hear the refrain ... "if you just would count calories and exercise, you could lose weight." Yet, she used to smoke up a storm and couldn't quit for years ****il recently). We all have our addictions ... some are harder to quit than others.

Well that's all for now. I have to go get some supplies online. Some things I can't find in Monroe/West Monroe. Have a good day.

i just realized that i never got back....

today is going better at the bank- yesterday; our power flickered then the computers and phones went out- was not able to "get er done" like last week...... and it was frustrating-tho quiet with no phones!

very very muggy again- rain due all weekend!

unrest at home and in my heart and mind-so what else is new?????

hugs and prayers

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I hope your mind and heart catch a break and that Michael calms down.  You are in my thoughts.

Hi Margo,

6pm here in Washington and I'm working at staying awake a few more hours. Got up to stay at 2am. . .  .Went to an arts/crafts show along the Columbia River in a nice shady park this morning with a friend. Thank goodness for the shade as it was close to 100. Bought a weather vane to put in the back yard. It isn't huge but so cute! A momma quail and 3 little ones spinning on top of the directional markers. Hope we can mount it on the fence.

Got out my camping gear and went through it. Don't think I got to go last year. So I'm taking minimal stuff with me to Erin's on Monday morning. On Saturday and Sunday next week Ihave a tent camping site reserved in a beautiful attended county park overlooking a beautiful bay. I'll taking Maggie with me for "protection" and enjoy two days of solitude. A couple of books, some easy to open "meals" and my little one burner camp stove, a few cooler essentials and plenty of frozen water. I am so looking forward to it.

Tomorrow night a friend and I are going to a community college production of "Rent." It's inside and air conditioned so it should be enjoyable.

It's a big party weekend here in town this weekend. Hydroplane races bring in thousands from all over the state plus Oregon and Idaho. I usually head out of town but will just enjoy the air show from our deck on Sunday. Then bright and early Monday AM I'll head back to our daughter's for 2 weeks.

Mike headed over  there this morning with a friend whose elderly dad lives in the same area as our daughter. He called a couple of hours to tell me he was cuddling Briley. The twins will be home from daycare now so he'll get a big dose of cuddling the next couple of days. He'll return home about the time I get there on Monday.
