So happy to see so many pop in on the Girlfriends box of questions thread!!!! What fun!
It's going to be 100 degrees today. I'm sick of summer! Next week the tropical storm is supposed to be bringing some rain which we need so badly. Of course, it will still be hot. Such is life in the South
Eileen, this is the hottest summer since we came here 5 years ago. Sorry this is the one to welcome you to the South!

No rain yet this morning, had some (not enough) last evening and a bit of wind, but the severe storms never got this far south as far as I know......I went to sleep! The humidity is off the chart and we are to be into the 100's today with that factor. I plan to stay inside as much as possible.
Our church is having their annual "Country/Western" service on Sunday and I invited my sis to come and go with me. After the service inside there are tables set up on the front lawn to accommodate 300+ people for a wonderful lunch. The community is invited as well.
Other than that I will be working on reading our book club selection, Bel Canto by Ann Patchett.....just started it yesterday, so far it's ok.
Hopefully can get the house cleaned this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
Off to the bank shortly -- got all my 19 hrs in this week. I know that doesn't sound like much to you full timers -- but I only worked 9 hrs before, so it's a big deal to me...

Morning Margo & all. Well today may be a shopping day. Yesterday I steam cleaned all my floors including my carpets. The house hasn't been this clean in months!! The day before I got my green beans canned & more raspberries in the freezer. So far I am loving this me time!!
Margo we got so much rain, we sure needed it.
Annette, I am sorry about your sister. I have a niece who is an MD. She is also quiet fluffy as is her sister. She is the only one in my family that has not made a comment on my weight loss. She is very against it. My heart goes out to any of her patients that may benefit from it.

TGIF is right!
Tomorrow the heat index is supposed to be between 105-108 degrees and humid ... and it's conditions that would typically have me hiding indoors. My cousin's having a family get together with members I haven't seen in a long long time so I'm going to go. She has a pool and if it's too hot, I'm guessing we'll all sit inside. Bleh on summer.
I'm running a couple of errands around my dermatologist appt (have to get my skin checked every 6 mos) and then after that will probably just work on my counted cross stitch, read and make a corn-bean salsa salad for this gathering tomorrow.

I'm off today - a vacation day! We are heading to southeastern Minnesota to my hometown for my high school class reunion - 40 years!! Wow. It will be fun to go there and be able to move and look good in my clothes. Yahooo for WLS. Michael is going with me - he wants to!
Sorry to hear about insecure sister comments. Sounds really like pathetic remarks made out of jealousy, or as I said insecurity and unhappiness. It is hard when someone who could love and support you aren't capable of that. I feel sorry for her - she misses out on YOU!!!

Annette, your sister is not telling you the truth. Perhaps she is jealous of you. She is a mean person. Normal people would not ridicule you in such a way. If she makes you feel bad, maybe it is time to stay away from her again. Her apology was empty and full of nasty remarks again. I wonder why she has the need to tear you down? Ignore her comments, she is the one with the problem. NOt you.
For me, I am trying to wind down from Florida. Still have clothes to unpack, lots of laundry and cleaning to do, since my husband was helpless while I was gone.
I cut my hair yesterday, it was extremely long and now it is about chin level. Changed the color too. I think it looks nice. So did everyone else.
Have a family reunion to go to tomorrow, so, I will be preparing things for tomorrow. No rest for the wicked. And, I am truly wicked!

Annette, out of the gene pool of sisters you got a shark. Don't let her project her insecurity and meanness on to you. You are a wonderful person. I posted this on FB last night ~ "People will forget what you said; People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel." You make me feel great!
Not much going on with me. I'm thinking it's time to invite the family over. It's been a couple of months since we've all been together (Memorial Day). So that will get me busy.
It's going to rain later today. I hope it keeps us from getting too hot and muggy.

Not planning much today or for over the weekend...I kind of just like to fly by the seat of my pants if you know what I mean. Things always come up....I just need to decide what it is I want to join in on.
Kyleigh (granddaughter) is going to a movie, dinner and then over to my sister in laws this afternoon and evening.
I am sure I will find plenty to do while she is gone!!
