Good Morning Margo!
I haven't been to bed yet- not sleepy. I am a night owl when I'm on vacation and then it's hell to get back to work.
I have nothing planned for tomorrow. I do know that I will be sleeping late. I have a play on Saturday and my Mom's birthday celebration here on Sunday. The play is at the Fallon House Theatre which is in the Goldrush town of Columbia. The play is about Tom Sawyer and has gotten great reviews. Mark Twain was very active in this area... he was a reporter in several newspaper offices in this area, so the play is apprpriate to celebrate him.
The weather is perfect right now. Highs of 90 degrees- very dry. We rarely have humidity. There is no rain in sight.
I guess that's it for me- it's great to see you starting the thread Margo.....

The two of us would make a great security team. I got up at 2am for the day! Fell asleep in the recliner about 9pm, woke up long enough to get in bed. Then 2am and I'm wide awake for the day. Now it's 6pm and I'm about out again. Have to stay busy for a few more hours or no telling what time I'll start Saturday; perhaps before it even is official.

My self image has always been a little rocky. Growing up I was not just the 'older' sister but also the BIG sister. My sister Mary Ann was tiny and the cute one. She always *****ed at me to lose weight.

We had a falling out when Mom died and haven't seen much of each other on the past 5 years.

Wednesday night I attended calling hours for our uncle. Mary Ann was sitting so I went over to see her. Big mistake.

In her loud voice she announced to the packed funeral home " My GAWD you look like ****" On and on she raved ... loudly.

When she announced that I should gain weight my own daughter muttered that she has said that for years.

Yesterday Mary Ann called and apologized. A rare event for her. Then the other shoe dropped.

She gave me some friendly fashion advice - never ever go in public with anything less than 3/4 sleeves because my arms are hidious. The loose skin is frightening. Also I should get a much better hair do - mine looks old and wig like. To top it off, my boobs are in need of enhancement and way too small.

Since then I want to hide under a caftan and stay hidden. One of the reasons I'm in therapy is a very bad body image.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Don't you believe it, Annette -- you are a BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT!!!!!

I'm sorry she felt it necessary to bad mouth you -- her bad.

We love you on here as many others do.   Yeah, my arms are flabby and flappy and you know what, I don't care --- if anyone doesn't like the looks of them, then turn their stupid heads and don't look!

We had WLS to live a healthier life -- our decision and what a difference it has made for all of us......

I love you just like you are and don't you ever forget it,
Pat R.

Wow, talk about both barrels. . . . And I always felt bad that I didn't have a sister, just brothers. I'll think I'll "rethink" that one.  Mom used to use that line"Sticks and stones. . . . but words may never harm me."  BS on that one. . . words hurt a lot and for me at least, they stick around forever! Hugs, we love you just the way you are and as one who has met and seen you in person I too see you as beautiful inside and out.

After you've had your time under the caftan and are ready to face "stuff", feel free to call your sister and invite her to kiss your scrawny, saggy butt.  Or, if you'd like, I'll be glad  to drive down and do it for you.

Uh.....  I mean tell your sister off, not ....  you know.......

Love from a sistah who cares,
Candy

Vent away, Annette ... you are beautiful! Don't let anyone tell you any different.

Yes, my arms are flabby, my thighs are flabby, I have a big panni that hangs over ... but I don't care, so if anyone else cares, that's their problem. I had self-esteem and self-image problems most of my life. I never thought I was good enough ... a lot of that is thanks to my mother. Everytime I did something good, she found a way to put me down ... she still does it. I get a job, and she tells me, "you're not going to take it, are you?" Well, duh ... I have to work, what do you think?

So give your sister the finger and tell her to stick it. First she tells you to lose weight, then she's telling you to gain and then how to dress. Ignore her. I have never seen you in person, but I've talked to you, and I can tell what a beautiful person you are. I judge people by what comes out of their personality, not by how they look.

You're too special ... that's what makes you beautiful.
