In an attempt to get the board a little more active I'm going to give this a try. Quite a long time ago a secret pal gave this game to me and I posted a question here daily (since I was new to AR and the OH board were my only friends...lol). I might not get to do it but 2-3 times a week, but maybe it will spark some more conversation?

Here we go...............

Currently, what is the most annoying fashion trend? What is one from the past that you didn't like?

I don't see quite so much of it now as I did, but I still can't stand guys who wear their pants around their butt cheeks. I don't think I'll ever get used to girls bra straps showing.
The old fashion trend I didn't like was the bare midriff. Not sure it was because I couldn't have EVER participated in it or if it was just plain offensive to me. No....offensive it was!

Come play everyone!!!!

buys with these big holes in their ears......i mean big holes....i go to church with a young man that has holes in his ears as big as a nickel!  i guess that's a fad more than a fashion trend!

fashion......folks wearing clothes too small!  sometimes you want to stop and say...."honey....do you not have a mirror?"

folks my age dressing like a teenager.....you want to say...."just because they make it in your size doesn't mean you need to wear it!!

old fashion dislikes.....tube tops!!!!

Hi Susan, I am with you on the guys low pants!!! Butt cracks & boxer shorts never did a thing for me.
My dislike is also on young girls who wear super tight clothes. The ones where the shirt rides up & they usually have a pot belly. Now nothing against fluffy girls, I was always one, but please respect yourself.
The old fashion trend is very high heels. I know they are back, but I can't imagine the pain involved. I was never one for heels. Please don't blast me, just my opinion.

Oh no....no bashing here from me and hopefully not from anyone else, either! That's what makes this so fun!

I don't like the new "Gladiator" style high heels. Of course, I can't wear ANY heels anymore since I blew out my Achilles, but I used to wear them a lot.

Oh, and I don't like women who wear business suits without hose!  Very unprofessional looking IMHO

Funny you should say that, Susan.....some prominant lady recently said to "save your panty hose and only wear them when necessary"....can't remember who now.   I especially don't like seeing TV broadcasters interviewing someone and the broadcasting lady has her legs crossed and very definately isn't wearing stockings ---   very ugly!!!

Low rise jeans are great on a super slim lady, but if you have a "tummy" uh no....looks awful...

I used to wear high heels and walked all over Chicago in them.  Now I wear old lady oxfords everywhere...

Loved this post!

Maybe those who think their lives are too boring to write on the What's Happening thread will join in here?  Sure would be nice to hear from some more folks, especially those who have left us....hanging....not knowing where they are or if they're okay.

Sigh.....

I'll play, this is less time-sensitive than the daily thread.

The older I get, the less attention I pay to fashion.  Clean, size-appropriate and unwrinkled works for me.  On the size issue, anyone else live in skin tight jeans just because they could after they lost the weight?  What was I thinking?

That said, I was astonished when a mom and grandma bought the 12 year old girl the expenxive exercising sneakers.  The ones on a bit of a platform that rock when you walk in them, maybe by Sketchers.  She was, based on their conversation, in the middle of a growth spurt.  Values?

My DIL works in a cosmetic boutique. The other day she sold $750 worth of make up to a 12 year old. Well, of course her mom is the one who paid for it, but it was for the child. Heck, even with the discount I couldn't ddo that!

OK my peeve is the CLEAVAGE everywhere.  The cashiers, waitresses, young women, everywhere.  I'm heterosexual married 38 years and even I am looking at them like it's a train wreck you can't take your eyes off of.  I can't imagine how the boys deal with it.  We had breakfast one morning and the young woman in my line of sight while I'm eating my eggs is busting out.  I lost my appetite, it was too early in the morning.

An old fashion trend I'm glad is gone is the shoulder pads.

Thanks Susan!

Bev

OMG.....there's a girl (well, woman really, she's 40) who is very obese...around 330 or so. She has huge breasts and wears HALTER tops!!!!!  AND SHE DOES PEDICURES!  What a mental image, huh? The owner really can't do anything about it because we're all booth renters, but geeeeeeeze.... I cringe every time she walks in the door wearing something low cut, which just seems to be about everything she ownes.

Oh and shoulder pads? Saw them on someone being interviewed on the Today Show this a.m. Can't remember who it was, but there they were~
