I can do boring!
I've been sitting inside for most of the past month, watching my garden bake. Hot and humid day after day, not the norm for my little corner of the world. I've gotten out a few times to garden, and to water, but it's not been pleasant.
Good news: Grass doesn't grow with no rain=no mowing!!!
I've been adjusting to retirement. I have actually spent more time than I usually do with my flowers, just not as much as I want to. Yard sales and Farmer's Market on the weekends. My older son was home last weekend and I got to make a cookout for 18 people. That was fun. I miss cooking for crowds.
My step-daughter from San Diego will be here for a week in August. I miss her in between her yearly visits..
Today I help sort clothes donations for the local thrift shop, and tonight I have plans with some former co-workers to do an evening cruise, complete with dinner and live music, on the local lake for a few hours. The boat holds a hundred people or so, and there'll be 6 or 7 of us. Should be fun. I haven't done one of these in a while.
In between, I do rain dances. It's not working...
