Good morning Pat and OFF,

Meeting some high school girls (3) and an old friend for lunch today. I haven't seen 3 of the girls in 40 years - boy, talk about feeling old - lol - I can't wait to see them.

Better get back to work so I can finish up before I leave. Having a quick protein shake for breakfast, so I thought I'd stop by and report in.

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Debbie

Debbie, Have a great time. I've found that years tend to fall away within a few mintutes at these reunions. Enjoy catching up with your friends.

Good Morning Pat and Friends, Staying busy, busy since I got home from my daughter's. Busy is always good for me. It keeps my mind in a good place. I am more organized, get more done, don't have time to dwell on things I have no control over and therefore I'm a happier persosn. The weather is just perfect this week. Mid 80s, little or no wind, sunny, low humidity. Perfect! The yard is just now coming back from us being gone 2 weeks. We have a sprinkler system and had someone mowing but it still suffered in the extreme 100 heat. When it's that hot hand watering and close attention need to be paid to the flowers. Think I'll try to find someone to stay in the house when we're gone the end of the month.

Yesterday had my mammogram and an eye exam at the Laser Institute. Thirteen years ago I had my fleshy upper eyelids reduced. The upper lid gets so bad that it bags down and impairs my peripheral vision. I thought it was bad enough for insurance to cover it. Well, the right eye was, the left not. So I can have insurance cover the right eye, leave the left alone (I don't think so!) or wait a couple of years until the left is as bad as the right. . . or pay $2500.00 out of  pocket for the left one. Guess I'll be waiting.

Erin  took Briley in for her 2 week appt. Just back up to her birthweight of 8.6 but has shrunk 1 inch! Something tells me they didn't "stretch" her out as far. Erin said she was kicking every which way during the exam. Did NOT like having her space invaded!

Got started back at the gym. I am going to try a Zumba class next week. Wanted to go today but have an oil change appt at the same time as the class. So it will Cardio Theatre for a new release on the eliptical. It's amazing had long I can stay on that thing if there is some "eye candy" on the screen. A few weeks ago Patrick in "Dirty Dancing" in his prime was enough for me to go 7 miles! Maybe i need to dangle something inticing in front of me on a stick!

Sun is just up and it's beautiful. Think I'll take my protein shake out on the deck and enjoy the cool, beautifuo, peaceful time of day. Lots of birds in my feeder and not much else for noise. Hope you all have a nice day. Make it one. Remember that attitude is a choice; have a good one. Don't let anyone or anything spoil your moments!

Karen,

I LOVE Zumba, it is a very intense cardio workout, the important thing to remember is not whether you can keep up the moves, but that you keep moving to YOUR ability. . .  let me know how you like it!

Hugs, Laureen

Sitting here drinking my morning coffee with protein powder.  Have to call the dentist, Dr. Roller, and my c-pap doc to get appts set up today.  Might as well take advantage while I'm still off work.  Plan to bake a ham and make a pineapple upside down cake for the boys today then mow the yard some more after getting on the elliptical.  I did 15 min yesterday before my thighs gave out, lol.  I plan to just keep building up my time on it every day.  Have a good day.

Hi Pat and my OFF family:

Supposed to get up to 97 here today, along with the usual humidity. I've found the humidity is really hard on my body. It hurts a lot, some days more than others. Today is one of those days.

Yesterday was a mess .... I got my new washer/dryer from the rent-to-own place, Aaron's. The guy was supposed to be here before 2 p.m.; he didn't get here until after 3 p.m. So I was sitting here all day waiting (I had a couple of places I wanted to go to). He got out here, set things up in my little laundry room, which is off the patio ... I guess that's a traditional place in Louisiana for laundry rooms, but it's rather bizarre for me. Anyway, I went to the credit union and to Starbucks (discovered the Starbucks is only three-10ths of a mile from me ... so close!), came home and threw a load of laundry in the washer. It was a load of whites, but I do everything in cold water. After a few minutes, I noticed there was water coming off the patio ... plus there was ho****er coming out instead of cold.

So last night, the installer comes back out, checks the washer, says there's something wrong and someone will call me back and replace the washer in the morning. No one calls me; I was really pissed. This morning, I get up early to call them and I was told someone would be out this morning to replace the washer. Nice of them to let me know!

This morning, the washer gets replaced (just a few minutes ago) and I put a load of wash in, and there's water everywhere coming out from under the washer. So now I wonder if there's something wrong with the drainage system. I will have to call the maintenance guy and have him look at it. Or call back Aaron's and let them know the washer is leaking again.

Well, back to work tonight. Hope I didn't forget anything. I would have liked to get into the pool this morning but oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Anyway, have a good day.
