What's New Monday, July 5th
Good morning Pat and our little band of those not on vacations some where...lol
Monday is my normal day off, so the only thing different is that Gary's home and under foot while I try to do my 'day off' stuff. He helps, but I feel guilty that I just have to get all this done before a full week of late nights at work, then Thursday is support group night. Sigh
I have been thinking about getting a Nook for a while now. Gary has one and just loves it. I've been stashing cash for a month or so, and decided to see what it totaled up to in my drawer. Well, I had almost $300!!! Then, I got to thinking, if I bought one of the new iPads, I could not only read books, but I could do all sorts of other really super cool things ( this is my way to justify things...more than one use). So, off to Best Buy we go thinking the "entry level" model would be great. Well, for another $100 I could get double the amount of memory. Great, the decision was made, except there aren't any of those models in Arkansas or Memphis. There is a two week wait on AppleStore, and no telling when BB would be getting more in. So, Gary talked me into buying the top of the line model.
Spending money on myself isn't something I do easily or often. Now that I see all that can be done on this, I'm happy he talked me into it. No Starbuck's for the forseeable future, though...lol!

Hi Pat and my OFF family:
Hot and humid here, too, as usual. It's always hot and humid here.
Not a whole going on here today, just more unpacking and pitching. Finished unpacking a box of bobbleheads (most of my White Sox bobbles) ... There's a nice set of shelves built in in the dining room, so I'm using them to display all my White Sox memorabilia. Then I'll put my Sox photos and stuff on the wall in the dining room ... not that I ever dine in there, but it will have it in a place where more people (if anyone ever comes over) can see it.
And with getting rid of that box, I can actually get the sliding door open in the living room. Scooter was enjoying looking at the birds last night, who for some reason were congregating in my little front yard. It's the most bird watching I've ever seen out of Scooter ... there were all sorts of sparrows in the front yard, and Scooter was entranced.
Anyway, I also have baseball games to watch during the day ... George, if you're checking in, the White Sox took two out of three from your Rangers ... it's about time! Josh Hamilton is on a real tear, though. Congrats to him on making the All-Star team, along with the other four players.
Well, the first ballgame of the day is one. See ya later. Have a good day.
