Hey, hey, hey! It's Freaky Friday, what''s new with you?
Good morning Karen and everyone who follows,
What a beautiful couple of days we've had! Last night I woke in the middle of the night to make a "necessary" trip and realized I needed to throw a light blanket over me! This morning I wrapped myself up in a robe and gloried in the nice cool morning. Another brutal heat wave is on the way so I'm enjoying this weather while it lasts!
Yesterday I got a big WOW. I went with my youngest to give a medical history to the doctor at Lourdes Medical. My daughter is having a torn miniscus repaired next Thursday. Anyway, the doctor looked at me and said, oh, you're so skinny, you must eat healthy. I about *fell over*. I have *never ever* been called skinny!!!!!
Today we have a couple of doctor appointments. In the afternoon, if I'm not tied up at the laundromat, I hope to get to the town beach for a little swim. If not today, definitely this weekend when it gets *H*O*T*!

Good Morning
I got out yesterday and sprayed Roundup in some areas for new flower beds. Today I go out and till up the areas that I turned over by hand a few weeks ago. Should be warm but not muggy. I need some physical exercise.
My older son will be coming "home" next week and staying about 5 days. He's lived in Maryland since right after he graduated college about 13 years ago, so western New York is no longer "home". Plus, I've moved a few times so my house isn't where he was raised, and that makes a difference. A few of his college friends and high school friends are still in the area, so he catches up with them when he comes home. We're going to have a small cook out the night before he leaves. Not sure who I'll invite, or who will come, but I hope to get at lease 8-10 people. It's been so long since I've had a get-together that my hopes aren't too good that I'll be able to get a decent response, especially at such short notice. It's still going to be fun to cook for a group.
Nothing much planned for the weekend. I wish some of my sistahs lived closer. Or I lived closer to them....

I don't know about honored to attend...I seem to remember that the boys' friends all liked to come over because I was a good cook and there was always plenty, and lots of desserts.
There'll still be plenty, but the desserts won't be quite as rich, and there'll be alternatives to the high fat, high carb sides that I make, as well as what they're used to from me. I have some great recipes, and they won't even know the food is healthier...

it's friday- i am up/showered/dressed and at the bank! fridays are always "something else" and the day before holiday weekend is "then some" sooooooooooooo

Just had a text from Nic....he had a delay at MPLS airport....something was wrong with the plane. He is now on his way to Des Moines to meet up with Jamie and Gracie. I am looking forward to catching up with him later......he has some good adventures to tell about I am sure!!!
I am going tanning and then meeting up with friends later this afternoon. Love this long weekend...yay...no wor****il Tuesday.

Hi Karen and my OFF family:
Got up late this morning, and with good reason ... at about 4 a.m., I woke up hacking and gasping for breath. Tried my rescue inhaler, water, finally dug up a cough drop that was in my nightstand and fell asleep after I swallowed that. My throat is still a little raw this morning and I have a headache. Don't know what caused this ... I know I'm off one of my meds for about a month since I misplaced it (either packed/pitched it, and Aetna wouldn't replace it). Don't know if that has anything to do with it ... this is the second episode in two nights, and I don't have insurance right now because I didn't have money to pay my Cobra this month, and my new insurance doesn't kick in until 90 days.
Fortunately, Scooter let me sleep ... he tried to get me up a couple of times, but then snuggled in next to me in bed. Maybe he's getting used to my new schedule.
Waiting for Comcast this afternoon from 1-3 p.m. to fix my phone/Internet. Aarrgh! Just get hooked up on Monday and already it doesn't work.
Not much else happening here. It's cloudy and 86, so a little cooler here. Have a good day.
