Good Morning Friends!

I have been very busy since last I posted here and thus the reason for my absence.  This past weekend was a flurry of activities, that included the usual laundry, food shopping, taking Roxie girl to the park, sprinkled in with a bit of social stuff such as driving up to Lansdale to support a friend and her family as they did the Relay for Life, where I walked a few laps and then home to go swimming in my friend Diane's pool and Sunday having breakfast with a friend of mine who is moving to Oregon today, getting a cake and bringing it to an AA meeting where we all said our goodbyes to her and then back to the pool, finally home to get some rest., I need a weekend after my weekends lately (lol). . .  Work yestereday was soooooo busy I did not even get to take my lunch hour, just ate as I worked, but it's a paycheck and the day flew by, which will take us closer to this 3-day weekend, of which I am soooo looking forward to. . .

Today will be another busy workday, followed by dinner with some of my AA buddies and then to an AA meeting to celebrate my roommate's sober anniversary.

Life is full and I am blessed for the many people I have in my life, so thanks to all for the well wishes and Eileen, happy surgiversary!  Hope your new life chapter is going well, I need to find time to be able to catch up with what has been happening in all of your lives. . .

Wishing you all peace and strength to get throught the challenges that life brings to you today!

Hugs, Laureen

Well, if it isn't the Birthday Girl!   Happy, happy day, my friend. Hope it's a terrific one and that everyone treats you to lots of fun!

Not a lot going on here, just more heat and work. Lots of folks are having exciting times; our new grandbaby Briley is here, Eileen is starting a new life and celebrating a surgiversary at the same time. Sound like life is just rolling along prettty well here.

Well, I'm off to do the best I can to get it together for the day. Hope all is well in everyone else's world!

Good morning, Laureen, and everyone who follows!

Wow, Laureen, you sure have been busy!

For some reason, I woke up at 1 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep.  It's about 7:45 and I'm about to try again.  I'm hoping to get a couple more hours in because we're taking Little T to the beach this afternoon and I'd like to be alert!

Last night my daughter and I watched The Princess and the Frog and it was really cute!  Since she seems to have Mondays off consistently, we've been trying to have Mother-Daughter movie nights and it's been fun so far.

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday as I toodle off to try and nap!

Happy Birthday, dear Laureen!

Sounds like you need a vacation to recover from your weekend.  But when I read your posts, I always think that.  You're like the Energizer Bunny, Girl!

Today my cleaning angel comes for the last time.  I love to have her, 'cause I hate housework, but I can no longer say I'm too busy to do my own.  I'll save my $$$, and if I need her for a big blow out cleaning, or something special, she said she'd help me out.  Now all I have to do is ask her where "I" keep the vaccuum and cleaning supplies...

This morning I go to help at the local church clothing sorting.  They open up to the public (no income restrictions) on Fridays for 4 hours.  Everything is 25 or 50 cents, with a few minor exceptions.  It's a match made in heaven for me!  I eyeball what I'm interested in when I help sort, then run back Friday morning to try to buy them before someone else gets them.  They get tons more stuff than they can use, and I try to limit myself to 2 or 3 items a week.  That combined with summer yard sales, and my closets are stuffed!

Other than that, nothing much planned today.  If it dries up I'll do a little rototilling.  Still have some Iris from a neighbor to plant.  Or I might just read a good book.  I'm working on "The Soloist" by Steve Lopez.  It's an incredible story.

Everyone have a good day.

Good morning Laureen and OFF family,
Welcome into this world our new babies, I'm still waiting for my grand baby...I think she will be born early next week.

Work is busy and I'm going crazy with it, not taking time for myself. Working on getting my SD moved out and with her new house. Things will settle down soon.

Plan on going up north to Mackinac, bringing our trailer up to my BIL's house. I have a 4 day weekend coming up and I need it badly. Plan on doing a lot of walking and riding my bike.

Hugs to all, Eileen, hope you are doing great and settling in to your new place.

It's not raining this morning!  We needed it but I'm itching to get outside and work around the yard.  It always makes me feel better.  My son worked for a day with his dad and did a really good job.  He jumped right in and would ask what he could do next.  My husband was quite impressed.  He starts his job at the local CV's tomorrow.  They grow up so fast.  As an added bonus to my day, my husband is going to be working here by the house all day finishing up a new water line tap that they put in.  I love to watch him working on heavy equipment, lol.  My boss is already asking when I'm coming back to work.  I put in for family leave and have applied for short term disability from my insurance.  I am not going bac****il I can hold myself together without either crying or exploding in anger every time I get anxious.  I'm not sure how this all works because I've never done it before.  All I know is that I'm not ready to jump back into the fray just yet.  Congratulations on the new grand baby, happy birthday, and everyone else have a good day.

Hi Laureen and my OFF family:

We had quite a storm last night ... lots of wind and lightning and thunder. While it was happening, I was trying to set up a wireless network. The guy at Office Depot assured me this was really easy to do ... yeah, right. Except the CD I had didn't work right. So I had to do it manually. And just when I thought I had it right, it wasn't secure. So I had to go to the company's website, fiddle around with settings, et****il voila! I found the right stuff and it set up ... I had to enter a PIN off the back of the router. Now, if the CD had worked, it would have told me that. I was so busy doing that I forgot to eat. (Imagine that!)

My other task yesterday was filling out paperwork at work ... they also want me to get a bank (which I want too) so I can get direct deposit. The problem, though, is I have to have a Louisiana driver's license ... never had this problem in Michigan ... but I did in Georgia. The woman at the credit union blamed the Patriot Act. So now I have to run and find the DMV or whatever they call it here (in MI it was the Secretary of State's office). Don't know if I'll get that done today. While looking for the credit union, I found one of three Starbucks ... it was so hot, I had an iced coffee ... yummy!

So today is the first day of work and my surgiversary ... six years ago I had my gastric bypass and changed my world. So now I'm embarking on another big change. I'm excited about starting a new job, nervous of course, but eager to be back in the workplace and not sitting at home all day.

Laureen, happy birthday.

Anyway, that's all from me ... have a good day.

Hi Laureen and all my OFF friends,
Happy Birthday, Laureen.  Happy Surgiversary, Eileen.  Happy New Grandbaby, Karen.
My poor Sis is still dealing with her cancer hysterectomy.  It's been seeping fluid since Sunday.  Doc says all is OK and there is no infection but to make sure they are starting antibiotics.  She just has to wait until it heals more before it will stop.  Now she has to call the breast cancer Doc to see if this will delay her lumpectomy on Friday.  She has to go for the pre-op testing tomorrow so she needs to know.
I love my new car.  I'm searching for a college alumni sticker I know I bought a couple of months ago for the back of the car.  I must have put it some place where I would be sure to find it. LOL.
Tonight is the concert on the green if it doesn't rain.  It's been cloudy all day.  Hopefully, it won't rain.  It is so hot and muggy.  I don't know what it's going to be like sitting in our lawn chairs on the green.  Sometimes there is a nice breeze, sometimes not.  It's 87 right now. This weather sure saps the energy right out of me.  I get nothing done after work at night.
I have to say, with all those who say stay off the scale, I'm a scalaholic.  I check my weight nude, with clothes on, in the morning, in the evening.  I'm up a lb., down a lb.  Always excusing the number by saying, oh, you just drank 12 oz. of water dummy or your wearing a brooch the size of Manhattan, etc.  It really doesn't drive me crazy, it's just habit. LOL.
My little Tess will be one on Sept. 1st.  My son and dil, who have spaced their children out two years apart, have informed me that they are planning a fifth grandchild to be born when Tess is turning two.  I can't wait.  They are all so precious to me.  It just makes it a challenge to get three car seats and two booster seats in a car along with grandma and grandpa.  I may have to rent a van when I want to have them all with us.
Have a good day everyone.
Bev
