Yesterday got up to 95 and the power went out in our town and 2 surrounding towns about 4:30 yesterday afternoon and didn't come back on until 4 AM this morning.  We headed to Walmart at 5:30 and picked up 2 of the grandkids at the lake.  Their parents were boating and the kids had had enough sun, so we picked them up, ate supper, Walmart and got home about 9 PM.  We sat in the dark.  Abbie got on my laptop so that provided a little light.  Then we found out they didn't think power would be restored for several hours.  So at 10:30 PM we headed to the campsite outside of town.  It had power because it runs off a different power company.  So we slept in the camper and came home this morning.

A storm moved in during the night.  The 2 kids came into our bedroom, so g'pa moved to the sofa bed and the kids got in bed with me.  Storms are pretty loud in a camper!

Jason picked them up about 9 AM this morning.

I offered some of my big clothes to a woman in town who has been battling cancer.  She came over this morning and picked up the 2 boxes. She was so appreciative.  I was glad to help her out.  She's a sweetheart and has battled malignant melanoma now for 9 years.  She's going through chemo again as it has moved into her lung.  I pray that she can beat this.  Her twin sister and she are inseparable.  I can't imagine how Bonnie will handle it if Connie doesn't beat this.    She is 45 years old and I don't think I've ever known someone with such a positive outlook on life as Connie.  She's amazing.

Have a great Sunday

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I'm back.  We just got home from breakfast and shopping with Ron's mom and a visit with my mother.  My mom goes from being quite lucid to very confused.  She still has a lot of pain but is finally on the pain patch plus oral meds to try to get a handle on it.  While we were there at the nursing home, she asked me when she could go back to her place.  She told me she didn't see herself sliding into a place like the nursing home.  I feel bad for her.

The sun is out and the temp is around 60 or so.  It's just beautiful.  No wind.  Perfect kind of weather.  I'm going to kick back and relax and then do some exercise.

Karen C.:  I'll be thinking of you and the kids tomorrow.

Hi Everyone,
It's a peaceful, HOT (101) Sunday... I have nothing planned. We went to a beautiful wedding yesterday, and today is a survive the heat day. Our heat is very dry, so it's not uncomfortable until it hits 100.
My accident pains are mostly healed... my head must have scar tissue because I get pain there if I hit my head on something or brush my hair a certain way, but it's all healed. My back and neck are still tender- I think that may be permanent.
Nothing to report.....
