Where is everyone Wednesday?

Hi Cassie and my OFF family:

After being on the road since Friday (and technically living out of a suitcase since Thursday), it's nice not to pack again and get into a car for once. The movers left this one little bench of mine outside my front door ... don't know why. I found it when I went to put out the trash. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are trash days ... But you can't put it out overnight. That's going to make it hard on those of us who work nights. But I set my alarm for 7 a.m. (and anyway, Scooter woke me up twice to be fed) and got the trash out by the sidewalk. I need to get out and get some more garbage bags.

Cable guy is supposed to come today at 11 a.m. ... good, because I miss my TV. I watched the White Sox-Braves game on my computer, which was OK, but not the same as TV. Smaller screen. But at least it was a ballgame. Had a "new home" beer to celebrate the move into the new home ... Michigan beer, but it's beer anyway. Got my coffeemaker but have to find the coffee ... I know where the box is, just have to unpack it. I'm hoping my phone is hooked up today, too. I'm using a public network for my internet ... I know, not the best, but at least it's the some access.

I think there must be a storm coming ... I have a headache. I hear there were some bad storms in Michigan after I left, with tornado warnings. Guess I got out of there just in time.

Well, have a good day.

Hi Eileen,
Right now in Kalamazoo they are having thunderstorm warnings. It's really really dark outside.
I won't be able to walk today during my break...bummer.
Indeed it's tornado weather here in Michigan today, high winds and I'm glad to be at work!

Oh I remember the unpacking necessities phase.  :P  One of the first boxes I had to have open was the coffee maker and coffee.  Other boxes would have to sit and wait, LOL,  the one with the coffee had to be opened first.  The first few weeks are the hardest because of the boxes piled everywhere.  So how does your new town look by day?

It's a blur ... all I saw of the town was driving through it to find my apartment. Today, I'll have to drive through to find a grocery store. Need supplies/food/garbage bags.

Good morning Cassie! Not much going on today, just rain. We sure do need it.
I worked in the garden for 3 hours yesterday. I didn't realize I was out there for so long. I had on a tank top so my back is a little pink. It doesn't hurt, thank goodness. Boy do we have potatoes! Looks like enough to give some to the kids. Also tomatoes, beans, onions carrots, beets, green peppers & I can't remember what else. Finally a good year for the garden.
Since it's raining I will work on the raggety ann dolls. I sure have a hard time staying in the house when it's nice outside.
My son should be here in a little over a week with his 4 daughters. I can't wait!! I think maybe they will be here for about 2 weeks.

Eileen, I am so glad you made it okay. I may forget to let you know, but you have been in my thoughts. I think you are so brave for moving & starting in a new place on your own! I am such a wimp, I would be so afraid.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Hi Cassie and all my OFF friends,
It poured buckets last night.  The lawn and gardens really needed it.  But today it is supposed to be 90 again so it is going to be very humid.  This is July and August weather for us.  It's too early to be so hot.
I just found out a high school friend who lives in Washington state is going to be in CT the weekend Hubby is away in July.  Whoot!  I can have her over, just the girls.
I'm renewing my efforts to get a few more lbs. off.  I bought a dress for my nephew's wedding the end of August.  It would feel a little more comfortable if I were 10 lbs. less.  So it's off to the gym today and sticking with my eating plan.  Unfortunately whenever I set a date goal for losing weight, I go even more out of control.  I guess that proves that stress is a trigger for eating? ya think?
Not much else going on in my life.  My big goal tonite is to get the recycling to the curb. LOL.
Hugs to all,
Bev

Morning Cassie & the rest of the gang. . .

I saw no one had started the thread this morning, but did not want to start it two days in a row, figured it's nice for someone else to get the opportunity. . .  anyway. . .

I am here at work and glad for the A/C that is pumping through, these temps are for late mid summer and yet here we go in June, oh well, certainly nothing can be done about the weather, except to accept and be grateful for the invention of air conditioning.

Well nothing too exciting going on, planning on seeing my grandchildren after work this evening and that about sums it up.

Have a great day, wishing those in need peace and strength.

Hugs, Laureen

Hi All,
I'm getting ready to check out in a few minutes, then drive back to the sunshine. Actually it has been sunny throughout my SF trip until today. The fog is back. But San Francisco needs fog...it's part of the total picture here. It's been a great three days- tests are good, friends came to entertain me, and I had some time alone too. Perfect. It was expensive, but I feel better having my follow-up care here where the doctors are the BEST! Time to pack up my notebook... happy day to everyone here!

Hi Cassie and friends,

It's after 3pm on the west coast. A beautiful day about 80, sunny, with a slight breeze. I'll pick the twins up from daycare by myself. Kind of a trial run for next week when Erin is in the hospital with Briley.

I'll play it by ear. If they are in a good humor we'll go to the park and swing a bit. They absolutely love to swing for an hour or so. As long as my arms hold up we'll be good! The park we like has two of the toddler swings up off the ground so it doesn't kill my back. Then we may go out to dinner if all goes well. If not. . . we'll be home early!

Today Erin and I went for pedicures and shared a half of a deli sandwich and some wonderful chicken parmesan soup.

Nothing much else. Cooked a turkey today and have the bones boiling for a soup base. Trying to get a few things ahead for next week. Some things never change. I still tend to cook when I'm a bit anxious. I'm sure things will go fine on Monday buy anesthesia and tiny new humans entering the real world is still cause for anxiety. And my "baby" will be the one having the baby. Until I see them both after surgery and alert I will be nervous.

So. . . I cook. Thankfully my son in law will eat just about anything I put in front of him.

Julia, so happy to see your good news. I have a friend who has been cancer free for 30 years. Yet, every time she has to have an exam she worries. It would be hard not to.

To everyone else, may you enjoy each day you are given. As Laureen posted we can't do much about the hand in life that we are dealt. We can make it the best hand possible! I try to do that. Take care. . .
