Scooter and I are home!
Scooter came out at bedtime and snuggled with me at night ... I think after the drugs wore off, he was back to his normal self. This morning, he was meowing at me and purring and giving me kitty kisses. He has been extra frisky on this trip (after the drugs wear off). You wouldn't know he was a 16-year-old cat. He woke me up at 6 to be fed ... hope he gets into the night shift routine again.
Eileen glad you made it to your new home....new beginnings. new times and new things to go see. quite an adventure....
What did you do with the rest of your babies...i see you only have Scooter with you? i have been gone for awhile and i guess i missed what you did with them....
Hope your new life is fun and full of good times.

Diva left when I had the revision on my right knee ... she was pooping out of the box and I didn't know why. So my friend Jeanine, who runs the cat rescue that I got her from, took her back. Turns out she had colitis. She is living in the senior room at the cat rescue, still a character ... when I first saw her again, she turned her back on me, put her ears down and refused to let me pet her. But the last two times she was friendly again and very sweet.
Nettie, my big orange and white cat, was having diarrhea the past couple of weeks (actually she had some bad bouts of it while I was on vacation, too). I didn't want to take a chance that she would get sick on the road, so I took her back to Jeanine also. Jeanine had raised her from a kitten, when she found her and her three siblings in a grocery bag in a trash container. Her littermates are all gone now, and only Nettie survives. She now lives in the senior room, too, along with Diva. After I dropped Nettie off, I noticed a marked dropoff in the amount of urine clumps in the litter boxes. So Nettie obviously has something else going on with her.
It was hard leaving her behind, but I think it was the right decision, for me and for Nettie. I know Jeanine will take good care of her and love her.

i remembered about Diva but didnt know about Nettie, sorry to hear that. poor little things but you probably did the right thing about taking her back to Jeanine...she might not have survived the trip or the move...hope you and Scooter are doing well today....

Hi Eileen,
Glad to see that you and Scooter made it safe and sound and you are getting settled.
Gerry and I were in New Orleans many years ago but it was in June. What I remember about the weather is that by 10 a.m. it would be 90 degrees and about 100% humidity. Air conditioning is as necessary down there as heat is in Michigan and Wisconsin.
Hang in there--everything will settle.
Hugs
Sylvia

Hi Eileen,
How exciting a fresh start in a new home and a new job. I wish you the best. It's nice setting up household again and being able to organize the stuff better. I hope Scooter's transition into his new home is rather quick. Take your time and just find the necessities for now. The rest can get put away in dribs and drabs.
Have fun.
Bev
