Scooter and I are home!
Actually, we were home about 1 p.m., but since then, it's been a whirlwind of movers bringing in boxes and furniture and asking me, "where do you want this?" Hell, I don't know ... some of the stuff came from my garage, and I don't have a garage here (I was told nobody has a garage here).
I thought about going out to dinner, but it was so hot (100 degrees at least, maybe more), I just wanted to get into jammies and turn up the air. Scooter was hiding in the litter box when the movers were here (I had him shut in the bathroom). But once I opened the door, he gradually came out. I think he's under the bed now.
I have been unpacking boxes a little at a time, taking a break to have dinner ... I found these shelf stable microwave dinners I bought from my bariatric center awhile back ... about 210 calories and not all bad. Tonight I had green pepper steak. Pretty tasty. I had to use a plastic fork. Still haven't found my real forks and knives and spoons.
I'm so tired, that's all I can say. It was a long journey here. I start work on Monday and I have a lot of unpacking and rearranging to do in the meantime. Cable guy comes tomorrow. No TV tonight, so I'm listening to an Elvis CD on my little radio-CD player (can't find my stereo yet).
Anyway, I'm a Cajun gal now. See y'all.

Eileen,
Glad to hear from you and that you made the trip safe and sound. I'm in awe of your starting a new chapter in your life. I'm so ready to and no way to do it right now. Guess I need to get out of the box a little more... I applaud you for doing it.
Yes, it's hot here, too. I came and put on shorts, turne the air down a smigeon more and turned the water hose on the grass in the back. I think there is a ban and I think I'm within the timeframe... I'll know if code enforcement shows up, I guess.
Well....glad you are at your new home.

So good to hear. Yes it is hot. But the hot weather has not bothered me at all since my WLS. Now the cold, that is a different story. And I never owned a winter coat in all my years in Texas. I wore a windbreaker only if it rained, otherwise it was short sleeved shirts. Not so any more.
Glad you are now a southern gal.
If you are ever out this way, you do know the White Sox play here occassionally. Like July 2,3 and 4. Just sayin'.

Eileen Glad to read you and Scooter are safe in your new home! Best wishes as you begin anew! May life in Louisanna be more than you could have imagined and wishing you happy, prosperous times!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

What an exciting time in your life! Poor Scooter just doesn't know what to do. Our cat hid for 3 days after we moved. We couldn't find her. Thought she had gotten out and went back "home". After 3 days I came home from work and she was there in the kitchen wanting to be fed. We have no idea where she was hiding, because we searched the house high and low. She was ticked at us for a while, but after a while she finally decided she was going to like it at her new home. I hope Scooter adjusts nicely.
