What's new Tuesday, June 15th

It's almost 8:30 here in southwest Michigan and no on has started today's thread......so post away.

It's another rainy looking gloomy day -- we've had so many of them lately, however it does help that God waters my plants so I don't have to.....tee hee!

Have taken the sheets off my bed and they're in the washer now.  Working on getting 24 oz. of crystal light down BEFORE breakfast.  I started doing this a couple days ago and when I weighed in at TOPs last night I was down another pound.  I have also cleaned my house of bread and crackers (I do have whole wheat saltines but they don't tempt me) and cookies.  I have to get serious about getting this regain off, as my three year check up comes up in August. 

Going to Coldwater, Michigan for lunch with family today to celebrate June birthdays......We're meeting at Bob Evans so I will be very selective about what I order.

Have a good day -- thanks to those *****sponded regarding daily carb intake -- the general thought was around 120 gm./day...   most of which should come from whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

Nothing to report....no news on Nic yet. I pray we hear something today. I will keep you all updated.This waiting is making me sick!

Yes Pat it seems so many of us OFF people are on FB now. I still always check in here first and there second. I do that a couple times a day.....I do not want to get addicted. I don't go to any other FB sites either....I don't have the time or the desire.

It has been rainy and gloomy here for days too. I miss Mr. Sun....please come back!!

Hi Pat,

It's so nice to see you this morning. We're playing musical beds here at daughter Erin's. She's less than 2 weeks away from delivering Baby Briley via c-section and she can't get comfortable anywhere. She starts in her bed, then downstairs to the couch, then to the spare room. I made me a blow up "room" in the family room so that she can "float" wherever she needs to.

I had surprise in the mail yesterday. Mike called from home to tell me about a letter from the IRS that arrived. Be still my heart! I don't like those words and always assume I've made an error as I do our taxes. Well, it seems that there is a new deduction that I didn't take advantage of. Something like a "retiree's back to work refund?" I haven't seen the verbage. Mike has the letter at home and I'm here at Erins's. . . . but along with the letter was a check for $500.00 !!!!!! How cool is that? We just ordered a very nice solar shade for the side of our deck and that is just about what it costs with installation.

Margo, if you are reading. . I've been worried since you posted about having to pay on the government rebate from last year. I was worried that I had somehow forgotten that. What a nice surpise!

Other than that just busy here trying to do the every day stuff so that Erin can just concentrate on work and not household stuff that is hard for her right now.

Weather is beautiful. Yesterday I did yet all 3 dogs out for walks and that was good for me too.

Haven't seen our Cheryl from Spokane in a while. Are you out there just lurking? Stop by and say hi. Margo, how about you?

I here someone's little "Mo mok!" so I'll sneak a bit of milk up there and perhaps we'll all get some more sleep. Have a great day everyone!

 

Good mornin', ya'll.

Just a quick drive by.  This has been a very busy morning.  Our DIL came over with magazines to discuss her new kitchen.  When our son gets home from this deployment that is the big project they have planned. I suggested she get some graph paper and make a few designs.  Then she'll know what she really has room for.  When Jim gets back he can critique with 'this will work' or 'this won't'.  He'll be doing all the work himself.

So now I have to get my suit on and head for water aerobics.  I love being retired and having the time to just stop whatever I am doing to visit with my DIL. I always know I can go back to whatever I was doing.  Also a plus not having little kids around that you have to put a project up high so it doesn'y get unravelled!!

morning pat and OFF!!

hey i was gonna start this post last night at midnight and poof!!! off went my pc!!!! so i said to heck with it and went to bed instead!! sighs looks like there are less and less people posting everyday now!!! and where IS margo?? she started posting and then just stopped....lots of people just dropped out of here to go where???? facebook??? i don't like facebook....takes up to much time and i am not into the pc like i was years ago. so if you regular posters are lurking out there....POST to let us know you are all ok!!!!! PLEASE

good luck getting your weight down before your 3 year check up!!! i am having a heck of a time getting it off seems it likes staying with me no matter what. i give up!! and rick doesn't help...he says i look ok. yeah he isn't the one that is in tight clothes!!! sighs

this new med i am taking to help with the pain in my hip helps at times yet the pain is still there. not like before so maybe i need to take it longer yet. its only been a week now so i need to give it time yet.

going to get my hair all cut off today!!! yup i am getting it cut short!!! no longer than 2 inches and the rest will be i guess tapered shorter. tired of it being flat and looking dirty because of it laying flat. sort of the jamie lee curtis look...

NASCAR race was awesome!!!!! had a great time there got a little sunburnt but not to bad!! our driver didn't win but still we had fun. this was my first time at a NASCAR race and when those cars came racing by the first time OMG!!!! the roar of those engines!!!!! woooohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! legs are sore from climbing the stairs to our seats. thought it would be my hip but it did hurt some but now its the calf of right leg that hurts like hell....go figure....lol and YES!!!! we will go again!!! not sure august this year but june next year for sure!!! think august will be way to hot to go sit in sun for race.....but who knows...we might go. depends on if we move and how much it costs to change things around...electric and cable/internet etc...plus my mom is coming for a visit again soon so next year sounds like it will be best to go again.

Judy.....glad you had a wonderful time at NASCAR...the roar of those engines is just thrilling!!!

NO....word on Nic yet....I am getting more and more nervous. I pray today that we hear some GOOD news!!

Margo is on Facebook now and then...as are so many others from here. I always check in here and then go to FB. I check in at both sites a couple times a day but I don't live on FB either.

i got an email joke from margo last week but nothing more since...like she disappeared....sighs

i do NOT like facebook at all!!! i do NOT understand it all and i do not have the time nor do i want to figure it out either.

as for the NASCAR race...OMG!!!! when the pace car came by with the cars it was cool...then they took off just after going by us and then they came by us again full throttle and man those engines were ROARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when it got down to about 50 laps i prayed it would end fast....i needed to MOVE i hurt so bad being so cramped up like in a sardine can!!!! and hot...omg it was getting so dam hot i could hardly breathe!!! glad the sun didn't come out til way late into the race!!! LOL

My daughter has a college friend who is on one of the NASCAR pit crews. She went to Florida for a race years ago (in her "other" life). She said when the cars came by she could feel her insides moving! She also got to wear a "pit badge" or something like that so that she could go right down close. It was a wonderful experience for her. Me, I get so motion sick that I wouldn't be able to follow the cars around the track. Too much like those cups and saucers at the fairs.

oh that would be a cool job!!! but not at my age!! LOL used to go to the drag strip with my first husband and would sit in the pits so we could walk around and meet and talk to the drivers and crew...but that was years ago....i get butterflies watching some rides myself so don't feel bad karen....;-)
