I'm back. Kind of like that fly that won't leave you alone! Haven't taken the time to post much lately. Busy, but everyone is so that's just an excuse. I do miss everyone. I usually pop in and read at least once or twice a day even if I don't write anything.

I'm packed and ready to head out the door to my daughter Erin's this morning. Mike will stay home and come for weekly visits. He realizes that with her so "full of baby"  and an incredibly crowded household that he would just be one more person to work around.

Erin is all over the house during the night. Can't get comfortable anywhere! I still remember that feeling even after all these years. She says she's read 4 books in the past 2 weeks! She goes from bed to couch to recliner to spare bed. . . Never know where we'll find her. Last week's doctor's appt said baby Briley is in 87 percentile and about a week ahead of schedule. Hoping maybe they move her date up this next week.

Twins are doing great. Starting to string words into sentences. The other day Hannah HEARD an airplane. Erin said she could jus****ch that little brain work as she concentrated on her sentence which came out:  "I SEE airplane!" Can't quite get the hear and see thing worked out but we know what she means! Erin said she was so proud of herself.

I'll put the spare carseats in my car and be able to take them to the park or McDonalds by myself to give Erin a break. Taking Maggie with me so Mike will have some fishing time without the responsibilty of her.

As the weather gets warmer keeping up with the watering and lawn is a full time job. We'll get very little rain from now through September. By very little I mean almost none. The other side of the state where Erin lives gets a lot of rain most of the year. Here in SE Washington we are a desert climate with 6-8 inches annually including snowfall unless it's a rare year.

Must get in gear, get my shower and get out the door. I think of you all even when I don't post. I absolutely love having friends all over the country. Knowing that in just about any state I will visit there will be one or more of you is wonderful! You do light up my life. Hugs,

Karen C

Good morning Karen and everyone....

Karen you are just the greatest mom and grandma. Your daughter and grands are so lucky to have you near enough to help out like you do. You are blessed!!!

Absolutely nothing new with me. I haven't been out of the house in a week and I am so bored and tired of looking out the same window. I can drive as of tomorrow. The doctor said appox. June 14th.....well my approx. will be the 13th....I need out of here and a short drive  just might get me through all this. I am venturing out shortly to go pick up a newspaper and take a little drive around town. I know not very exciting but for me it will be!

Jamie, Nic and Grace made it back home from Memphis safe and sound...I am so glad. I always worry so much when they travel. Hopefully tomorrow will bring good results from his last test...please keep praying, sending vibes, good wishes, swinging chickens and whatever.....thank you!!

Have a beautiful day everyone. I am so blessed to have you all in my life!!!

Prayers to so many in need.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Good morning, Karen and all

I slept in until 7:30 this morning and I can't remember the last time I did that. Gary, bless his heart, has finally listened to me say how tired and stressed I am about work, so he started the laundry and offered to make breakfast. Oh, I love that man of mine...lol

All I'm doing today is some grocery shopping and a stop in at the beauty supply to restock from this crazy week. Another one ahead. Trust me, I'm not complaining about the work, and the money is great, it's just that I'm away from home for 11 hours or so a day and it starts to wear on a gal after a bit. Oh well, as my mom used to say, "chicken one week, feathers the next". She was a doll.

Karen, you ARE such a great mom and grandma. Mike is a good man to know where he needs to be and when. Gosh, poor Erin is going to be so relieved when Briley gets here, not that she'll be getting much more sleep, at least she'll be a little more comfortable.

Connie, will hold my breath in regards to your driving and Nic's test results, so let us know soon so I don't turn blue...lol!

Okay, off to the shower and then out the door. You all take care!

Susan

Hi Karen and my OFF family:

Gloomy day again ... we had some sunshine late in the day yesterday. Maybe it will be the same today.

I'm feeling rather blue today ... yesterday I was cleaning the litter boxes and there was diarrheal poop in it. I knew it was from Nettie because it was all over the pan liners and the pan lid. It was a mess. I know I can't take a cat who has diarrhea on the road with me. I don't know what's going on with her ... she had this when I was on vacation, too, so it's not just stress over me packing (as a friend of mine suggested). So I called Nettie's former mom, my former cat sitter, who runs a cat rescue. Jeanine had said if Nettie ever became sick, she would take her back and let her live at the shelter for the rest of her days. So on Monday, I'm surrendering Nettie. Only Scooter and I will go to Louisiana. I'm heartsick. I will miss Nettie, but I know it's the right thing to do. I can't afford to take her on the road, have her get sicker and then maybe die ... I'm having problems making ends meet just making the move. I know Jeanine will take good care of Nettie. She was Jeanine's cat first (she found her and three other kittens in a plastic grocery bag in a garbage can ... Nettie is the only surviving cat now). But stilll, I'll miss her.

Today, my friends are having a goodbye party for me. It will be nice to see who shows up. I know Mary Kay and Kim will be there because they're cohosting the party ... after that, there's a few other people I know for sure and others I'm not sure of. I hope the party will cheer me up a bit. I sure could use it. The stress of the move is killing me.

Well, at least the Sox won two in a row from the Cubs (and four in a row total). Maybe it will continue ... hope so!

Eileen  -  I'm so sorry that you are going to lose Nettie; our pets always make us feel loved, but she will have a good place to go.  It's nice that your friend will take her back.
Any move is stressful and you are doing yours alone and you're moving to a new city  -  lots of preparation and adjustments to make at one time.
Have fun with your friends today; it's good to have something to take your mind off all of the the changes and work ahead of you.

Good mornin' ya'll.

Karen, isn't being a grandma the greatest thing in the world?  I remember when my daughter was PG.  She lived just up the road so it was very easy for both of us. Now she is way across the country.

Bacon is on the George Foreman for BLT Sunday at Gramma's house.  I believe one grandson had a friend over last night, so I imagine I'll see both of them down here in an hour or so for breakfast.

We had a nice gentle rain in the night so God watered my plants for me.  The best kind of watering. It also cut down the humidity.

I am working on crochetting a border on baby pattern fleece blanket. This first one isn't as pretty as I would like it to be.  I have to work to get the holes around the edge more uniform. It's still very nice, and my DH can't see any problems with it, but I am a prefectionist.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

I must be a perfectionist too.  I tried crocheting a border around a blanket.  It turned out pretty, but I wasn't happy with it either.  Let me know if you find out the "secret".

Have a great day!

Well, the second border looked a lot better.  The secret seems to be meticulous measuring. In OR I had a HUGE table to spread my work out on for measuring, etc.  My table here isn't as large.  So I spread it out on the floor, but it kills my back trying to get it all marked correctly.

I don't think borders on fleece baby blankets will be part of my regular things I make.
